For 15 years, the EPA’s 2009 Endangerment Finding has been the bedrock for regulating greenhouse gas emissions. However, as the current Administration moves toward its repeal—ignoring decades of legal precedent and scientific consensus—the United States faces a critical strategic void.

The Climate Institute Board of Directors and staff are deeply saddened by the loss of our long-time Board member and distinguished climate scientist, Dr. Robert Corell. Bob led a remarkable life dedicated to advancing climate science and global sustainability. He was widely recognized for his groundbreaking work on climate change, particularly in the Arctic, and was a respected voice in scientific and policy communities worldwide.

As wildfires become an increasingly devastating reality for Los Angeles, we must seize this moment to rebuild a stronger, more sustainable, and fire-resilient city. The recent disaster has left countless families displaced and critical infrastructure in ruins. However, within this crisis lies an unprecedented opportunity not only to recover but also to reimagine the future of our city in the face of climate change.

The Amazon ecosystem hosts the largest tropical rainforest on the planet, unique savannahs, and an extensive riverine network. From 1989-1990 Topping served as editor of portions of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) First Assessment Report. He received a Certificate from the IPCC for contributing to the award of the Nobel Peace Prize of 2007 Topping was the former Staff Director of the Office of Air and Radiation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Reagan administration. He earned a B.A. from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from Yale University.

The conference led to the adoption of versity agreement includes key global targets to protect and restore nature, ensure its sustainable use, and spur investments for a green global economy.

Tribes must perpetually combat federal and state programs to maintain their cultural identity, facing fragmented land bases and other environmental obstacles.

The Climate Institute is happy to announce that Scott Sklar will assume chairmanship of its Board of Advisors. Scott will take part in a number of Climate Institute Initiatives, particularly those relating to electrical grid transformation and regenerative agriculture. Scott brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Board of Advisors. He has run the Stella Group, a clean energy optimization firm, for the last eighteen years.
