I started to be an environmental activist when I was 17 years old, and that is because my grandfather and my grandmother were ejidatarios , farmers, indigenous Mayas. They taught me how to respect our q’nan ulew. It does not belong to us, but we are part of the q’nan ulew, that is Mother Earth in Maya. When I went to the university, I decided to study economics.

Climate finance sounds complicated. We’ll make it make sense. Come with curiosity and leave with a working understanding of the concepts, agreements, and institutions to understand how the financial system works (or doesn’t work) to fund climate solutions. In response to skyrocketing electricity bills, members of Congress introduced the Energy Bills Relief Act (EBRA) earlier this year. It’s a great blueprint for the kind of legislation we need – a comprehensive plan for building out clean energy and making life more affordable for American families. It would be a huge step towards modernizing the power grid, protecting consumers, and speeding up clean energy projects. EBRA pushes for exactly the kind of progress we need, so let’s speak up for it.

Singapore — 15 July 2026 — The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit climate organization founded by former US Vice President Al Gore, will host an in-person climate leadership training event in Singapore from 8–9 September 2026 – the first ever in Singapore.

Washington, D.C. (June 12, 2026) — Over the course of a week, The Climate Reality Project’s Global Week of Action, mobilized citizen support and action across six continents, 20 countries and 75 cities in support of the accelerated transition to clean, cheap energy.

Sometimes an event feels like it’s the start of something bigger. Maybe even transformative. That’s exactly how our Global Week of Action from June 1–7 felt. For starters, in the middle of a global energy crisis offering daily reminders of the dangers of fossil fuel dependence, over 10,000 people in 20 countries decided they weren’t just going to read the headlines. They were going to do something about it.
