IBM is preparing to deploy a large NVIDIA-based AI computing cluster on IBM Cloud under a multiyear agreement with Together AI worth $240 million. The cluster is expected to become available in the first quarter of 2027 and will use NVIDIA HGX B300 systems connected through NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet networking. Together AI plans to use the infrastructure to run inference workloads for open-source AI models.

Oracle and Quantinuum have entered a multi-year partnership to make Quantinuum's Helios quantum computer available through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, giving OCI customers access to quantum hardware alongside existing GPU and high-performance computing services. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the companies did not provide a deployment date. Oracle plans to preview its OCI quantum service in the coming months.

Microsoft has opened its fourth cloud region in India, adding new computing capacity in Hyderabad as companies move more workloads and AI applications onto cloud infrastructure. The India South Central region became generally available in Hyderabad, Telangana, and joins Microsoft's existing regions in Pune, Chennai, and Mumbai. Microsoft also operates two data centres in India through its partnership with Reliance Jio.

AI infrastructure startup Volta has emerged from stealth with a $2.4 billion valuation and a $10 billion agreement to provide cloud computing capacity in Europe alongside Bitdeer Technologies. The seven-month-old company said the six-year agreement will support an unnamed AI company through infrastructure at a Bitdeer-operated data centre in Norway.

AWS recorded its fastest growth in more than four years during the second quarter, but Amazon said it still lacked enough computing capacity to meet customer demand despite raising its 2026 capital spending forecast to $220 billion. AWS revenue rose 37% year over year to $42.2 billion in the quarter ended June 30. The result exceeded the 31.21% growth expected by analysts surveyed by LSEG and marked the cloud unit's strongest performance in 18 quarters.

AMD has signed an agreement with Core Scientific for access to more than 500 megawatts of AI-ready data centre capacity in the US beginning in 2027. The arrangement can be expanded to as much as 2.5 gigawatts. AMD customers will be able to use the capacity to deploy AI systems based on the company's hardware and software. AMD said the infrastructure is intended for customers including AI model developers, cloud providers, and enterprises deploying systems based on its computing platform.

Nvidia is reportedly discussing a $250 billion financing guarantee linked to a 10GW data centre project that OpenAI is considering leasing in Ohio. The proposed arrangement would extend Nvidia's role beyond supplying computing and networking equipment by adding financial support for the infrastructure project. The facility would be developed by SB Energy, a SoftBank subsidiary, at the Portsmouth Site in Pike County, according to The Wall Street Journal.
