First - there are three types of tequila - Blanco (or silver), Reposado, and Anejo. If you see the word "Gold" on the label, put the bottle down and walk away. All that is, is silver tequila (usually low grade) with food coloring to make it look like a more aged tequila. Blanco tequila is unaged, or aged very minimally. Reposado (rested) is aged in wood barrels as little as two months and as long as one year. And Añejo is aged over a year (good ones at least two).
