The Indianapolis Colts are an American football team based in Indianapolis. The Colts compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's American Football Conference (AFC) South division. Since the 2008 season, the Colts have played their games in Lucas Oil Stadium. Previously, the team had played for over two decades (1984–2007) at the RCA Dome. Since 1987, the Colts have served as the host team for the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Colts have competed as a member club of the NFL since their founding in Baltimore in 1953 after then-owner Carroll Rosenbloom purchased the assets of the NFL's last founding Ohio League member Dayton Triangles-Dallas Texans franchise. They were one of three NFL teams to join those of the American Football League (AFL) to form the AFC following the 1970 merger. While in Baltimore, the team advanced to the playoffs 10 times and won three NFL Championship games in 1958, 1959, and 1968. The Colts played in two Super Bowl games while they were based in Baltimore, losing to the New York Jets in Super Bowl III and defeating the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl V. The Colts relocated to Indianapolis in 1984 and have since appeared in the playoffs 16 times, won two conference championships, and won one Super Bowl, in which they defeated the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI. WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Indianapolis Colts today signed undrafted free agent wide receiver Liam Clifford. Clifford, 6-1, 200 pounds, participated in the Colts' 2026 Rookie Mini-Camp on a tryout basis. Collegiately, he played in 52 career games (15 starts) at Penn State (2021-25) and compiled 42 receptions for 530 yards (12.6 avg.) and one touchdown. Clifford also registered three carries for 16 yards (5.3 avg.) and had one touchdown on a blocked punt.
Justin Walley, Hunter Wohler picking up where they left off in Colts training camp
WESTFIELD, Ind. – In the first two days of training camp in 2026, cornerback Justin Walley and safety Hunter Wohler have fit right back into the Colts' defense. Walley and Wohler were both having breakout training camps in 2025 before they each went down with season-ending injuries. Walley, who was a third-round pick by the Colts in 2025, sustained a torn ACL in a joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens.

WESTFIELD, Ind. – Daniel Jones pinged consecutive completions to Tyler Warren to begin practice, hit Josh Downs after a play-action rollout to his right and even took off to scramble. So you could be forgiven if you spent the entirety of Wednesday's Colts training camp practice at Grand Park forgetting about the torn Achilles' Jones sustained seven and a half months ago. "I thought he looked really good," head coach Shane Steichen said.

Colts teammates not surprised by timeline of Daniel Jones' recovery
Since he's been in the NFL, quarterback Daniel Jones has got his receivers together every offseason. While he was with the New York Giants, it was to Lake Norman, NC. With the Colts, it's been to Florida. On the 2026 trip, Jones went about his football activities as normal. To most there, it slipped their minds that he tore his Achilles' just seven months prior. "We were in Florida a couple weeks ago throwing, and I actually forgot he had gotten injured," receiver Josh Downs said.

Colts announce Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellows
Westfield, Ind. – The Indianapolis Colts today announced Jonah Chong as the team's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellow for training camp. Chong will assist with the offense. Earlier this year, the Colts had two Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellows for the 2026 offseason program – Vonn Bell and Bilal Powell. Bell assisted with the defense and Powell worked with the offense. Chong is in his first season at Washington State as an offensive assistant.
Colts have high expectations for WR Josh Downs to begin training camp
WESTFIELD, Ind. – As training camp kicks off Wednesday, the Colts will be without their top two wide receivers from 2025. Alec Pierce will begin camp on PUP after undergoing ankle surgery in March and Michael Pittman Jr. was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers the same month. In the absence of Pittman and Pierce, Josh Downs will have an opportunity to show he can do more in the Colts' offense.
