We just got a brand new piece of Avengers: Doomsday concept art, by former Marvel Studios Director of Visual Director Andy Park. The piece shows the entire Avengers cast assembled, and gives us our best looks at many of their costumes. It also has some secrets, including some details that may confirm some of the biggest internet rumors about Doomsday.

The Batman Part II is now even further away than before. Matt Reeves’ critically acclaimed reinvention of the DC franchise first hit theaters in 2022. Initially, a sequel was planned for the fall of 2025. But 2025 came and went with no sequel. At one point, the movie was on the calendar for the fall of 2026. Until recently, it was expected in theaters in the fall of 2027. Not anymore. As part of a series of adjustments to their release calendar, Warner Bros.

The two stars of one of the biggest blockbuster franchises are getting their own ride — although it won’t be easy for stateside fans to try it out. Legendary confirmed that the first ride based on their Monsterverse — featuring the endless battles of Godilla, King Kong, and the other “Titans” — will debut later this month.

Is Godzilla Minus One the best prequel ever made? I think it’s got to be in the conversation. The 2023 Japanese epic sci-fi disaster movie brought the world’s most famous atomic fire breathing dinosaur back to basics, with a story set shortly after World War II at the dawn of the atomic age (and the dawn of the Godzilla age). The film was a surprise smash with critics and audiences around the world, grossing over $116 million in theaters and even winning an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.

David Lynch barely completed one Dune movie, and when he finished it, it was, well, not his finest work. Some observers thought Denis Villeneuve would be lucky to finish both halves of his adaptation of Frank Herbert’s epic sci-fi novel, especially in the age of Covid. He made Dune: Part One, then waited to see if it was enough of a hit to warrant the budget for a Part Two. Somehow, Villeneuve not only finished his two-part Dune, he managed to convince Warner Bros.

Holy Zillow Batman! One of the most famous homes in TV history is for sale. 380 S. San Rafael Avenue in Pasadena, California — best known as the exterior of Wayne Manor on the 1960s Batman television series —  is now on the market. Asking price? $32 million. But hey: If you’ve got Bruce Wayne money, that’s nothing. The Jacobean Tudor Revival home was built in 1928. At 18,665 square feet it’s a mansion worthy of a billionaire whose parents were murdered in a mugging gone wrong in Crime Alley.

What is Avengers: Endgame Encore? Before we get Avengers: Doomsday at the end of 2026, multiplexes around teh world will get a re-release of the previous Avengers blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame — now expanded and retitled Avengers: Endgame Encore. So what is this thing and just how different is it from the original release of Endgame from 2019?

X-Men ’97 finally returned on Disney+ this week, with a huge three-part season premiere. And if you like ’90s X-Men comics, man, this show is for you. The Season 2 debut included so many Easter eggs calling back to that classic period in Marvel history. X-Factor — the classic version of the team created by Peter David and Larry Stroman — are now a major part of the storyline, as are Cable’s X-Force team, like Rob Liefeld’s old comic came to life. But those are just a couple of the obvious callbacks.

The trailers and teasers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day show villains like Scorpion, Boomerang, and Tarantula. They also feature Spider-Man fighting the Hulk, along with a mysterious hooded character who can control people’s minds. But Brand New Day star Tom Holland says the movie’s ultimate villain has not been revealed yet, and that no one has figured out the true secret of the movie so far. But we think the ScreenCrush team might have finally cracked it.

Supergirl did not fly high over the weekend. The opening weekend box office numbers for DC’s latest film are not great — certainly not more powerful than a locomotive. According to Deadline, the film is estimated to have grossed $38 million in its opening weekend in U.S. theaters. That’s barely more than half of the reigning box-office champ of the moment, Toy Story 5, which dropped roughly 56 percent from the previous weekend to gross an estimated $70 million from Friday to Sunday.
