The SGA, located in RSU 009, is an organization that ensures students’ voices are heard on campus. If you are an advocate for accessibility, equity, community building, and bringing a good quality of life to campus, the SGA provides ample opportunity to do so. The SGA wants to bridge the connection between students, staff, and faculty at BSU.

Delivering easy access to a wide range of resources and information on academics, accommodations, finances, career planning, campus culture, and more, MyBSU is the college’s central digital portal for all students. The Student Accessibility Services (SAS) center is open to all students who need extra assistance in the classroom and with housing! If you had an IEP or a 504 plan in high school, SAS offers accommodations in the classroom similarly to those plans. To obtain the necessary accommodations, you must go through the SAS portal. There, you will be required to self-disclose the need for accommodations.

Having complete freedom to choose what classes you take here at Bridgewater State University can be incredibly exciting! However, at times, the process can also be overwhelming, especially for newer students. How many credits do you need for your desired major? What classes will fit best into my schedule? Here at BSU, we have 11 residence halls, each with its own unique style and setup. There are residence halls on both the east side and west side of campus. On East Campus, there are eight halls: Shea Hall, Durgin Hall, Stonehouse Hall, Weygand Hall, Crimson Hall, Miles Hall, DiNardo Hall, and the Great Hill Apartments. On West Campus, there are three halls: Pope Hall, Scott Hall, and Woodward Hall. If you’re a first-year, you will likely be living in Scott, Pope, Woodward, Shea, or Durgin Hall.

Last year, BSU saw a number of new developments across the college, whether that be in renovations, academics, or partnerships. Whether you’re a new or returning student, this article can serve as a refresher for some of the many things happening at BSU. While many colleges have seen dwindling enrollment in recent years (and some have even closed), BSU is nearing its highest enrollment ever, according to President Fred Clark, with 9,492 students as of Spring 2026.

The Comment is Bridgewater State’s very own student-led newspaper, originally established in 1927. As we enter almost 100 years as an organization, our goals have stayed relatively the same: to provide students with crucial world information, fresh perspectives, and to add to the sense of community we wish to uphold on campus. The newspaper itself is divided into five sections, with each having a handful of articles in each issue.

Hey new bears! You have so many exciting things ahead of you, and as a rising senior, I am so jealous. I have truly loved my time here so much, and I know you all will too. Bridgewater was not my top choice, but it ended up being the best choice I could’ve made for myself. I still vividly remember the day my parents dropped me off at my room at Shea Hall. Bridgewater State University uses the resource Blackboard for students and their classes, but how does it operate? This article will be a short guide to using that platform! Blackboard can be accessed online via the Bridgewater State website as well as downloaded as an app to most mobile devices. The web version supports the following browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Blackboard, once accessed, allows for students to view information about their courses and manage them.
