07/14/26 Afternoon CommStock Report – Yes, My Iowa Corn Seed is More Expensive Than in Brazil, But…….
Friday’s WASDE report helped give the bulls leverage by trimming stocks below expectations. Focus is back to weather where above average heat is providing market support. We need to differentiate between above average heat and extreme heat. Extreme heat showing temperatures 10+ degrees above normal does not seem to carry much past this weekend. Meanwhile above average temperatures (5 degrees above average) appear to linger well into August for much of the Corn Belt.

07/12/2026 Sunday Market Preview
Grains were called higher in follow-through from last week’s strength and with assistance from the energy trade’s bullish reflection of what has been happening in the Middle East. Weekend rainfall also verified as mixed across the Corn Belt, with much of the central and western regions receiving less than Friday’s forecast had advertised. The uneven rain coverage kept weather concerns alive and supported weather premium building along with the heat this week.
