30 July 2026 Residents of the Quarry Heights shared housing scheme joined together for a community celebration featuring the unveiling of a new mural. Organised by Ark Housing Association through the scheme’s Good Relations Plan, the event was supported by the Department for Communities and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s ‘Housing for All’ Shared Housing Programme.

30 July 2026 Junior Ministers Joanne Bunting and Aisling Reilly have launched a campaign in partnership with Ulster University to raise awareness of coercive control and support better public understanding of the signs of abuse. The H.S.K.T Coercive Control Campaign focuses on highlighting that coercive control is abuse and provides information to help people recognise the behaviour and signs associated with it.

Holywell Trust recently hosted its final Forward Thinking workshop, featuring vital insights from leading race relations experts Dr. Ebun Joseph and Dr. Naomi Green. The workshop was both hard-hitting and timely.

30 July 2026 As part of their recent Diversity Week celebrations, Integrated College Glengormley invited coaches from Ulster GAA and Ulster Camogie to deliver taster sessions in Gaelic Games to their Year 8 and year 9 pupils. The Community Relations Council supports Ulster GAA through its Core Funding Scheme. As part of the taster sessions, young people from different religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds enjoyed participating in games many had never had a chance to experience or see before.

27 July 2026 The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) has commissioned and provided funding for research, conducted by Rural Community Network (RCN), to hear from young people about the realities of their rural lives. They wish to understand more about what young people value, what they hope for, and what helps or limits their opportunities. The Community Relations Council supports RCN through its Core Funding Scheme.

01 July 2026 St Columb’s Hall in Derry~Londonderry came alive recently as Africa Day 2026 delivered a vibrant and successful celebration of African culture, community and inclusion. Hosted by the African Caribbean Community Network (ACCN) and supported by Apex, Ark, Choice and Radius Housing Associations through the ‘Housing for All’ Shared Housing Programme, the free, family-friendly event attracted a strong turnout from across the city and beyond with over 700 attendees.

In June 2026 Holywell Trust in Derry-Londonderry held two workshops as part of their Forward Thinking project examining the constitutional future question through a series of workshops and study visits. Forward Thinking is funded through SEUPB and Derry City and Strabane District Council’s Local PeacePlus Action Plan.

She has a journey that began in 1984, upon receiving the news that her father had died to the hands of an IRA atrocity. The event commonly referred to as “The Brighton Bomb” was one the most chilling and significant event of the Troubles.

01 July 2026 The International Fund for Ireland (IFI) has opened a call for peacebuilders to apply for funding. Under the new ‘Crossing the Threshold’ strategy, organisations can now apply twice a year for financial support ranging from £30,000 to £150,000/€35,000 to €170,000. The strategy encourages innovation and will provide direct support towards the areas of greatest need and where there are emerging opportunities for peace and reconciliation work.
