Condobolin High School student Eli Heffernan has earned selection in the Open Boys Western Cricket Team and will represent the region at the NSW CHSSA Secondary Cricket Championships in Bathurst. The selection recognises Eli’s ability and performance on the cricket field and provides him with the opportunity to compete against some of the state’s leading secondary school cricketers.

Lachlan Mile Herefords (Condobolin) recorded a strong set of results at the 2026 Condobolin Show, earning several placings across the cattle classes. V416 placed third in its class, while V408 secured second place in its respective class. Further success came in the pair and paraders events, with W325 and V416 placing second in the pair, while W325 and Lucy also finished second in the paraders.

Recently, Lachlan and Western Regional Services finished their six-month Women’s Group, funded by the Strong and Resilient Communities Program through the Australian Neighbourhood Houses and Centres Association. The final session was the last of Marang Dhali Cooking Program. The women have been coming together to prepare and create yummy everyday recipes with a health twist. Being able to enjoy food that tastes great with added healthy ingredients the whole family can enjoy.

Condobolin High School student Rachel Grimmond will travel to Tamworth after being selected in the Open Girls Western Cricket Team. Rachel’s selection will see her represent the Western region at the NSW CHSSA Secondary Cricket Championships, where she will compete against some of the state’s best school-aged players. The achievement is a strong recognition of Rachel’s cricketing ability and provides an opportunity to gain valuable experience competing at a state-level school competition.

Condobolin pool owners are being urged to check their pool pump timers and electricity costs before the summer swimming season gets underway. The warning comes as households prepare backyard pools for warmer weather, with the amount of time a pump operates each day potentially adding significantly to household electricity bills. Energy Rebate Check spokesperson David Perry said pool pumps were among the household appliances that could operate for several hours every day.
