New York State has initiated a strategic planning process for Buffalo's waterfront district. The study will guide future mixed-use development, public investment and neighborhood growth. Empire State Development will oversee market analysis, urban design and stakeholder engagement. The planning area includes Canalside, the Cobblestone District, KeyBank Center and portions of the Buffalo River waterfront.

Foundation concrete work has started on The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children in Mississauga, Ontario. The redevelopment is one of Canada's largest digitally connected hospital construction projects. Site excavation is more than 78% complete, with seven tower cranes operating on the project. ED+PCL Healthcare Partners is delivering the project alongside Infrastructure Ontario and Trillium Health Partners.

STV says airports are increasing focus on landside access and multimodal transportation planning. Major international events are expected to increase passenger volumes at U.S. airports. Airport operators are investing in roadway improvements, terminal access and operational resilience. Phased construction and coordination remain essential for projects at active airports.

PC Construction has started work on the Union Memorial School additions and renovations project in Colchester, Vermont. The project includes a new 50,000-square-foot academic wing and renovation of 14,000 square feet of existing space. Construction is being completed in phases to reduce disruption to ongoing school operations. The upgraded campus will serve pre-K through second-grade students.

Construction firms continue investing in workforce development to strengthen project delivery and operational consistency.

An engineering assessment found the Mackinac Bridge's vessel collision risk is below the national threshold established by AASHTO. The evaluation was completed in response to a National Transportation Safety Board request following the 2024 Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse. Parsons performed the analysis for the Mackinac Bridge Authority. The study considered bridge design, vessel traffic and navigation conditions in the Straits of Mackinac.

Brasfield & Gorrie has completed the structural framework for an 81,500-square-foot expansion at Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, South Carolina. The project includes a new academic building, a sports performance facility, and campus roadway improvements. Construction is being coordinated around ongoing school operations and academic schedules. McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture is the project architect. The campus expansion is scheduled for completion in summer 2027.

Focus has completed the structural framework for the 19-story 1221 W. Washington development. The mixed-use project will include 287 apartments, retail space and structured parking. Focus is serving as both developer and general contractor. Initial residential deliveries are planned for January 2027. Construction has reached a key milestone on a new mixed-use residential development in Chicago's Fulton Market district. Focus has completed the structural framework for 1221 W.

Sundt has completed construction of the Green River Energy Center in Emery County, Utah. The renewable energy project combines 400 MW of solar generation with 400 MW of battery storage. Construction included installation of nearly one million solar panels. The project also required approximately 385 miles of underground cable infrastructure.

Skanska has completed phase one of a $400 million emergency department renovation and expansion at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The first phase delivered a new 178,000-square-foot emergency care facility in Miami. The project doubles the emergency department's original footprint and expands patient capacity. Remaining phases are under construction, with phase two scheduled for completion in 2027.
