An eighth grader at Forest Glen Middle School, Levene plays the baritone saxophone and participated in the 2026 Seven-Star Honor Band over the summer in Orlando. He rehearsed and performed alongside talented musicians from around Florida, according to the school’s director of bands, Jennifer Perez.

3 17Shares Four people escaped injury after a Hyundai Kona crashed through a guardrail and into a canal near Sample Road and Riverside Drive Sunday night, according to Coral Springs Police. Police said they received a call at 8:07 p.m. after the crash near the northeast corner of the intersection. According to police, the 34-year-old male driver of a 2026 Hyundai Kona was traveling west on Sample Road when another vehicle reportedly moved in front of the Kona.

Hernandez expressed his excitement about continuing his academic and baseball career at the next level while thanking his family, coaches, and everyone who helped him along the way.

Alarcon, a senior, serves as drum major for the Coral Glades Marching Jaguars and plays alto saxophone. She has a 5.2 GPA and is ranked ninth in a senior class of more than 600 students.

A senior with a 4.1 grade point average, she is the Student Government Association (SGA) president and a leader on the football cheerleading team. Children who attend Coral Springs’ private or public elementary, middle, or high schools — or who live in the city — are eligible to apply. By leading the pledge, children learn a valuable lesson in civics while attending their first city commission meeting.

According to a Coral Springs Police Department arrest report, Sarah Catherine Browning, 30, was arrested on August 19 and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm stemming from a road rage incident that began near the 6200 block of West Sample Road near Turtle Creek Drive.

Parkridge Christian High School made its varsity football debut against Pompano Beach High School but fell 41-0.

1 11Shares Kevin Smith. {CSHS Athletics} Despite uncertainty surrounding the program in recent weeks, the Coral Springs High School football team will take the field this season, with Kevin Smith taking over as the Colts’ new head coach. The Colts will forfeit their first two scheduled games against Pembroke Pines Charter and Forest Hill High School before taking the field for the first time on Thursday, September 3 against Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
