The 90s and 2000s packed some of the best stuff around. Still, one of the biggest treasures from those decades were the candy and sweet treats. No matter how much junk floats around the market today, I don't even need to check to know those items cannot beat the old school snacks. The candies from our childhood had it all, packing hyper saturated flavors and radioactive colors that clearly should have alarmed everyone, yet back then, those details made us crave them even more.

To understand this week's random news item, we have to trace back to September 15 of this year, when a brawl broke out in a Miami restaurant. The rapper Trippie Redd was involved. During the argument, Braveone Jones (also known as BalloutDaDon) pulled out a weapon and fired it against two people. Jones has been wanted by the police ever since, and on Tuesday, October 6, he was finally caught during a search-warrant raid on Trippie Redd's mansion in Florida.

Mike Ditka passed away on October 9 — he was 86 years old. Ditka was an American football legend in Chicago who famously won the Super Bowl in 1985 with the Chicago Bears. He was also a multifaceted individual who touched the world of comedy. Among the things he did there were parodies of himself on shows like Saturday Night Live, in addition to co-starring in the comedy movie Kicking & Screaming (2005) alongside Will Farrell.

Last night, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski, Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer and the rest of the 30 Rock family commemorated the 20th anniversary of the iconic NBC sitcom’s premiere by singing songs, playing games and pressing a stun gun against John Lutz. As a now 41 year-old movie addict, it's going to be impossible to fully express my love and appreciation for ‘90s comedies. I was 9 years old during Jim Carrey’s beastly run of Dumb & Dumber, The Mask, and Ace Ventura (all released in 1994), then I was treated to Billy Madison and Tommy Boy only a year later. There's too many great ones to list here, and listing them here would not make for a very good pre-list blurb.

We aren't usually ones to criticize someone's home (especially when it has such a gracious host), but your skull has a stale odor that is almost unbearable. Would you mind if we opened a window in here or lit a few candles or something? It reminds us of coming home after a long vacation. We walk into a place that clearly hasn't been used for a while, and feel the need to freshen it up. That's all we're doing here today.
