Cycling UK, formerly known as the Cyclists' Touring Club or CTC, is a charitable membership organisation supporting cyclists and promoting bicycle use; it is the largest such organisation in the UK. It works at a national and local level to lobby for cyclists' needs and wants, provides services to members, and organises local groups for local activism and those interested in recreational cycling. The original Cyclists' Touring Club began in the nineteenth century with a focus on amateur road cycling but these days has a much broader sphere of interest encompassing everyday transport, commuting and many forms of recreational cycling. Prior to April 2016, Cycling UK operated under the brand CTC, the national cycling charity. As of January 2007, the organisation's president was the newsreader Jon Snow. Source

Shorter evening ride at a leisurely pace to Devil's Dyke and back to Brighton
On Wednesday 19th June, we're meeting at Brighton Palace Pier at 7 pm in the evening for a ride to Shoreham, then up to Truleigh Hill, along the South Downs Way to Devil's Dyke and back to Brighton, ending at Preston Manor. Please note, this ride includes an off-road section on a stony track, so it may not be suitable for thin tyres. This will be a ride at a leisurely pace. Please bring lights. If the weather is poor, please contact the organiser to check if the ride is going ahead.
Meet Rob Butler, volunteer ride leader with over 20 years’ experience
Rob has been taking part in group outings with Reading CTC since 1998. In recent years, he has also coordinated the very popular Tuesday rides for the more senior members of the group. Great rides: Boring to Dull
The best adventures have a way of finding you, even if you weren’t looking for them. I think big cycle trips need a purpose, with a definite start and end. I also like them to be somehow unique or unusual. In 2022 I became the first person to cycle through all of the 204 Ordnance Survey Landranger maps in numerical order. This unlikely journey began in May in Shetland and ended in Cornwall, more than 7,000 miles and six months later.
