The SEC filed an amended complaint against LSU on Tuesday, Sept. 8, over the college's potential plans to add former NFL players to its roster. The SEC has since scheduled a vote with conference presidents on whether to expel LSU from the league. In the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, the SEC argues it has the authority to remove LSU from the conference.

LSU's defense played lights out vs. Clemson. Clemson took a 3-0 lead thanks to LSU throwing a pick on its own side of the field, but after that, Blake Baker's defense didn't let Clemson cross the 50 until garbage time. It was the best we've seen the LSU defense under Baker. A collection of returning players and transfer additions makes this LSU's most talented defense in several years. The talent was on display in Week 1 with playmakers flashing at all three levels of the defense.

The SEC's federal lawsuit against Louisiana State will have its first hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The lawsuit stems from LSU's attempt to roster two players who had previously signed professional contracts. U.S. District Judge Annemarie Carney Axon will rule on the SEC's request for a temporary restraining order. Judge Axon is a University of Alabama graduate and recently presided over a high-profile case involving an Alabama athlete.
