Dan Round the World
Blog
I’m Dan, an avid traveller from London. I like going to places where normal tourists don’t go.
I’ve been to over 80 countries in my life and been fortunate enough to have lived long term in 4 of them.
I’ve barely been in my home country of the UK since 2015 and I have been working online fully remotely since mid 2021.
I normally stay away from ultra touristy destinations in favour of under the radar and remote places. I much prefer to be surrounded by locals when travelling than other tourists. As I work and travel, often being called a digital nomad, I need to be places with some infrastructure although I would love to spend my time outdoors, hiking or staying in the desert or jungle! As part of my quick trip to Oman, I managed to see a couple of oneworld lounges in Bangkok airport. The airport actually has a lot of lounges available to passengers flying with a oneworld airline and I managed to tick off two of them on this visit. The other being the Oman Air Lounge you can find here.

I’ve passed through Doha airport more times than I can count in the last few years and it is probably my favourite airport. And thanks to having airline status, I’ve been to the Platinum and Gold lounge north many times as well. I feel like I know my way around the place pretty well.
