Walt Disney | DISNEY THIS DAY | September 5, 1911 On this day in 1911, nine-year-old Walt Disney entered Benton Grammar School in Kansas City, Missouri, following his family’s move from Marceline. Walt had a hard time paying attention in school, mostly because he woke up at 3 AM every day to deliver newspapers. Even so, he devoured books and took up cartooning at school, sometimes even during lectures. Walt’s 1917 commencement from Benton was his only school graduation.

A wall in Tomorrowland at Disneyland has a very new look. Near the exit of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Little Green Men Store Command, the new wall has a different look from the rest of Tomorrowland. It is closer in color to the new paint that recently debuted on the outside of the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters building. At initial glance, one could almost imagine the new wall paint job being a salted caramel ice cream swirl.

Recently, during the Nightmares Revealed event, fans got a look at what is coming this year for Knott’s Scary Farm. Daps Magic was invited by Knott’s Berry Farm to cover this event. Following the main presentation on the Calico Mine Stage, there was a panel that gave a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind the mazes for Knott’s Scary Farm. This included the two newly announced mazes.

The Walt Disney Family Museum continues to offer its Perfect Pairing series in its theater. For these screenings, guests not only get to see a specific movie. They also get the movie paired with an adult beverage. The Walt Disney Family Museum has announced that, in celebration of Winnie the Pooh’s 100th anniversary, they will be screening The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as this month’s Perfect Pairing event. This will take place on September 30, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

Villainous, one of the names that the Westbeat a cappella group goes by, is returning to the Disneyland Resort for Halloween Time. The group will be performing on the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage throughout September and October. Ahead of their first performance, they have shared their performance schedule. This includes both dates and times. This was shared on their Instagram handle. There are quite a few movies to look forward to this fall from The Walt Disney Company. This comes after a blockbuster summer for Disney. IN the last few months, movies like Toy Story 5, Super Troopers 3, and The Dog Stars have helped Disney surpass $4 billion at the global box office. Starting today, the fall slate of films begins to be released. This starts with a re-release of Disney and Pixar’s Cars, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Pixar Place Hotel has joined the Halloween fun at the Disneyland Resort. Guests will see Mike, Sulley, and other favorite monsters dressed in their Halloween best on the hotel walls. This is the first time that Pixar Place Hotel has gotten a Halloween overlay. Throughout the hotel, there are playful costumes and hidden seasonal details to be found during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort.

Last month at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, it was revealed that there is a Zootopia 3 in the works. On top of that, birds would be joining the world of Zootopia. As time has gone by since that announcement, the cast and filmmakers are sharing about the announcement and the new film in this franchise. This includes Jared Bush, the Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, and stars Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan.

A limited-time offering in the form of a Disney Store has opened in Paramus, New Jersey, at the Westfield Garden State Plaza. The Disney Store Limited Time brings the nostalgia and magic of the Disney Store of days gone by to the Garden State. Tokyo DisneySea Grand Opening | DISNEY THIS DAY | September 4, 2001 On this day in 2001, Tokyo DisneySea first opened to the public. The idea for a second park in Tokyo was first dreamed up in 1987, but 11 years went by before ground was broken. DisneySea has a nautical theme and debuted with seven themed lands, called “ports of call.” The park is designed for all ages but offers more experiences for older guests, including thrill rides and a wider variety of dining options.
