Columbia | DISNEY THIS DAY | June 14, 1958 On this day in 1958, the Sailing Ship Columbia debuted at Disneyland as an expansion to the Rivers of America attractions. The three-masted windjammer was modeled after the real Columbia Rediviva (or “Freedom Reborn”). She was the first United States ship to circumnavigate the globe, starting in 1787, discovering the Columbia River in Oregon along the way.

Toy Story 5 is arriving in theaters on June 19, 2026. Ahead of the arrival of this film, Tim Allen shared about returning to the franchise while walking the red carpet at the world premiere for Toy Story 5. In the brief interview, he shared how he was “geeked out” about seeing the film that night. He also shared about what was important to him in returning for this film.

The beloved sing-along series Gracie’s Corner is heading to Disney Jr. and Disney+. The series has over 6.3 million YouTube subscribers and almost 10 billion lifetime views. This viral phenomenon will soon be a part of the Disney family. Disney announced that this acquisition includes both global linear and streaming rights. It will bring over 120 shorts and 18 themed compilations to Disney platforms. It will also include developing brand-new, original content in the future.

Chris Sanders has a long history with Lilo & Stitch. He created the character of Stitch in 1985. Years later, he co-directed and co-wrote Lilo & Stitch (2002) with Dean DeBlois. In this film, he also provided the voice for Stitch. He then provided the voice for three sequels and three television shows before reprising the role in the live-action Lilo & Stitch (2025). Last year, it was revealed that Sanders would be writing the script for the sequel to this live-action film.

On June 16, 2026, Shanghai Disney Resort will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. As it reaches this milestone, this park continues to grow and shine. Disneyland Handcrafted, the Leslie Iwerks documentary which chronicles the building of Disneyland over the course of a year, has been nominated for a Television Critics Association (TCA) Award. The nomination is in the category of Outstanding Achievement in News and Information. The film was recently submitted for Emmy consideration and also won three Telly Awards. The winners will be announced later this summer on TCA’s social media.

Apple TV has released a trailer for the second season of Camp Snoopy ahead of its debut on the streaming service later this month. The second season of the series will be arriving on Apple TV on Friday, June 26, 2026. The series is based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. Camp Snoopy follows Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts, along with Charlie Brown and friends, enjoying an adventure-filled summer outdoors.
