François Aptel, Our Man in Jakarta
In many parts of the world we have full-time field service representatives to support operators. In areas new to Falcons, these individuals offer more than technical support. They are often the face of Dassault. They transfer knowledge, build relationships, coordinate with the wider Dassault organization, and make sure customers get the most from their aircraft.
M&O: Dassault family gathers for frank talk and a little fun
Close-knit families don’t shy away from frank conversations. They know that sharing hard truths builds solidarity—that transparency builds trust. I’d like to think that’s how we communicate within the Falcon family. Our annual M&O sessions are one way we demonstrate that commitment. Saving Life and Limb with a 900EX
I don’t want to make light of a serious medical situation, but this month’s column is literally heart-stopping. It’s about the longest ECMO air transfer ever accomplished. An ECMO machine is a heart/lung bypass device. You won’t find one in every hospital. If you see one in an intensive care unit, it’s usually big and bulky. Only a few are miniaturized, ruggedized, and certified for flight. A patient being cared for with an ECMO unit must be sedated and constantly monitored by a cardiac team.

What builds brand loyalty—We ask a longtime operator
It’s always great to see Mike Higgins when I can catch a few minutes with him. He’s regularly flying globally in one of the Dassault aircraft that they operate for Bechtel, a privately owned engineering company in the US. Mike also serves as the company’s Director of Flight Operations. The professionally operated, split-base flight department employs 16 pilots, 7 maintenance technicians, three dispatchers, several cabin safety officers and one team member in accounting.
