Macquarie Data Centres buys A$240m Sydney site for 200MW campus
Macquarie Data Centres, part of ASX-listed Macquarie Technology Group , has exercised its option to purchase a roughly 34,200sqm (368,000sq ft) light industrial zoned development site between Talavera Road and the M2 motorway, Macquarie Park, for A$240m. The company plans to construct a data centre campus with approximately 200MW of IT load in Sydney's North Zone (AZ1). Completion of the purchase is subject to standard settlement procedures and is expected within the coming weeks.

Fastmail launches Amsterdam data centre for EU data residency
Fastmail, an independent email provider, has announced the launch of a data centre in Amsterdam, giving customers the option to have the primary copy of their data stored within the European Union. Available from August, the new European hosting location is intended to address demand from organisations seeking greater certainty over where their data is stored and where the services they use are hosted.
Barings extends data centre lease and secures 30MW power boost in Stockholm
Barings has extended a global data centre operator's lease at its Vanda 3 asset in Stockholm by 10 years and secured an extra 30MW of power capacity to support further development and leasing at the site. Barings, an alternative investment manager, has secured a 10-year lease extension with a global data centre operator at its Vanda 3 asset in Kista, Stockholm, on behalf of a European core real estate strategy. The company has also secured an additional 30MW of power capacity for the site.
AVK to open £3m Haydock facility manufacturing PowerPods for data centres
Power solutions firm AVK is investing £3 million in its first standalone UK manufacturing site in Haydock, Merseyside, to build modular PowerPods for data centres, creating skilled jobs, graduate roles and apprenticeships with St Helens College. AVK, a supplier of power solutions for data centres and AI infrastructure in the UK and Europe, has confirmed plans for its first standalone manufacturing facility in the UK, located in Haydock within the Liverpool City Region.
