The Museum of Modern Art will present Wolfgang Tillmans: To look without fear, the artist’s first museum survey in New York, from September 12, 2022 through December 31, 2022. Unique groupings of approximately 350 of Tillmans’s photographs, videos, and multimedia installations will be displayed according to a loose chronology throughout MoMA’s sixth floor.

For their contributions to the field of art, Suzan Frecon and Bridget Riley have been inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters alongside seventeen new members and two honorary members during its annual Ceremonial on May 18, 2022. Frecon is one of three visual artists to be inducted this year, and Riley has been inducted as a Foreign Honorary member. Membership in the Academy is limited to 300 architects, visual artists, composers, and writers who are elected for life and pay no dues.

2022, 2020-2022 Forged steel Height: 120 inches (304.8 cm); Diameter: 77 inches (195.6 cm) Since the early 1970s, Richard Serra has used hot rolled and forged steel to make sculptural works that emphasize the physical process of their creation, consistently exploring the possibilities of form and matter. The largest single forged round by the artist to date, Serra’s 2022 (2020–2022) comprises one forged steel cylinder placed centrally in the gallery. Texts throughout are quotes from the artist.

Welcome to a celebration of our artists in Venice. This presentation introduces the eight artists whose works span the 59th International Art Exhibition, The Milk of Dreams, curated by Cecilia Alemani; ambitious solo exhibitions in the Belgian Pavilion and Canada Pavilion at the Biennale Arte 2022; and a major monographic presentation at the Palazzo Grassi. The works at the Biennale Arte are on view through November 27, 2022; the exhibition at the Palazzo Grassi concludes August 1, 2023.

David Zwirner is pleased to present Robert Ryman: The Last Paintings, on view at the gallery’s 69th Street location. This will be the gallery’s first exhibition of the artist’s work since announcing exclusive global representation of the Estate of Robert Ryman. The exhibition will feature a group of works Ryman created in 2010 to 2011, the last paintings that he would produce before his death in 2019.

David Zwirner is pleased to present an exhibition of photographs by Roy DeCarava (1919–2009) at its London location. This will be the first solo exhibition of the artist’s work in London in over thirty years and the first presentation of his photographs in the city since inclusion in Tate Modern’s Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power exhibition in 2017.
