Davis Polk partner Gabe Rosenberg was quoted in The Information discussing the CFTC’s request for comment on proposed rules aimed at preventing exchanges from giving affiliated trading firms an advantage over customers. The article noted that the proposal would require trading and exchange businesses to operate independently and would bar the trading firms from making speculative bets against customers.

Davis Polk today announced that private equity M&A lawyer Todd B. The article noted that the current administration’s tendency to approve deals quickly has led to an increase in regional bank mergers which may continue over the next two years.

Davis Polk partner Oran Ebel was quoted in Creditflux discussing the growing number of options business development companies (BDCs) have as they look to improve liquidity. The article noted that BDCs have found a way to free up some capital and deleverage by selling CLO equity, which has some unique benefits.

The article noted that investor interest in sports is at an all-time high, and highlighted Davis Polk’s role advising Mark Walter on his acquisition of a majority stake in the Los Angeles Lakers. “Everyone wants to invest in sports right now,” Jon said.
