DAYTON SCREAM PARK 🦇🕸🕷 Location: 4040 Wrightway Road in Dayton Opening Date: Sept. 6 Details: Dayton Scream Park is opening with a new structure this season, in addition to new scenes, props, monsters and an updated haunted compound. The haunted attraction is open on Friday and Saturday nights through Oct. 26. Tickets are sold from 8 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $25 with VIP options available. The park offers a concession stand and free parking.

Susan Valley of Dayton won first place with her recipe for stromboli. The recipe came from her late-aunt, Marie Abbruzzese, who she spent a lot of time with growing up in South Philadelphia. “South Philadelphia Italians always had a second kitchen in the basement of their row homes,” Valley said. “Every occasion that we had at my aunt Marie’s house she made stromboli.” Her aunt made the bread for the stromboli from scratch, but over the years Valley has simplified the recipe.

Washington Twp. deli adds new deals, menu items
The Besties menu also includes the addition of the deli’s first burger. “It’s not necessarily a traditional deli item,” Solganik said. “We just decided to try it and see what the appeal would be.” The 6 oz. all beef burger has a few secret ingredients that enhances its flavor. For example, the deli uses heavy cream and hot sauce in the burger mix. The hot sauce does not make it spicy, Solganik said. There is vinegar in the hot sauce that gives it a little extra flavor.
