JNC Recommends Six Candidates for Superior Court Vacancies
The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to the president of the United States six candidates for two judicial vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the expiration of the term of Judge John F. McCabe Jr. and the resignation of Judge James A. Crowell IV. The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill these vacancies. The candidates for McCabe's seat are Niquelle M.
Comment on Judicial Fitness of Judges Christian and Glickman
The Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure (CJDT) is seeking public comment to aid in the review process of Judges Kaye K. Christian and Stephen Glickman, who have requested recommendation for reappointment as senior judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and the D.C. Court of Appeals, respectively. The CJDT asks for comments on the fitness of these two judges, with a submission deadline of October 9.

Chief Judge Lee Swears in Six New Superior Court Judges

Nominations Open for 2027 D.C. Bar Elections
The D.C. Bar is now accepting nominations from members interested in service in Bar leadership and standing for election in 2027. The deadline to submit nominations is January 15, 2027. Open positions include: President-elect Treasurer-elect At-large Board of Governors members (four vacancies) Members of the American Bar Association (ABA) House of Delegates (three vacancies, including one Under-36 Delegate vacancy) Candidates must be active members of the D.C. Bar.
Comment on 17 Candidates for Superior Court Appointment
The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission is inviting comments from the bench, bar, and public regarding the qualifications of 17 candidates for pending vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the resignation of Judge James A. Crowell IV and the expiration of the term of Judge John F. McCabe Jr. The commission will submit the names of three applicants to the president of the United States for his consideration.
