From 17 to 25 October, Eindhoven transforms into a city of experimentation and new perspectives, where designers present their work to a global audience. Dutch Design Week (DDW) invites designers to set the course of the future. Projects can be submitted by 16 June. With this Call for Entries we call on the full spectrum of the field—from the speculative to the industrial, the research-driven to the hands-on.

This will be the main topic of the fourth edition of the DESIGN LIVE TALK at Secrid HQ on December 11. During this event, Mel van Dijk ((un)woven), Eden Harrison (Carbon Cell), Itika Gupta (Dungselabs & Daily Dump), Reinier Bosch (Solarix) and Secrid founders René van Geer and Marianne van Sasse van Ysselt will dive into the challenges and opportunities of Intellectual Property in today’s design landscape, where creativity, responsibility, and innovation intersect.

This milestone edition brought together our creative community to reflect on 25 years of design, dialogue, and progress. We don’t wait for the future: we shape it together. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved alongside our community: the diversity of design and conversation, the new connections formed, and the sense of collective momentum built over nine inspiring days. Designers continue to show how creativity drives change, shaping both the design of the future and the future of design.

In an era shaped by political tension and the rapid rise of AI, he questions how we teach, learn, and imagine as designers. His programme looks beyond the classroom, asking what kind of creative mindset the future truly needs. A design studio is more than the work it produces.

Discover Forward Furniture during Dutch Design Week 2025: a bold exhibition exploring the experimental future of collectible and signature furniture. Over 100 designer studios present new works that push the boundaries of form and material, while staying rooted in use. The Next Chapter in Furniture Design Conceived and curated by Liv Vaisberg, Forward Furniture invites designers to showcase at least three realised works, from signature pieces to experimental editions.

New this year at Dutch Design Week are the HUBS: exhibitions that cluster designers around urgent developments within different domains. These themes are especially present and influential this year, making them a key factor in shaping future visions. By bundling projects and perspectives, the HUBS spotlight these developments and brings them closer to the public.

The Regio Deal therefore focuses on three pillars: distinctive facilities, attracting and retaining talent (at all levels of education) and innovations with social impact. In total, the cabinet is investing 130 million euros over four years via the Regio Deal. In addition, the region itself is investing 240 million. All 26 projects are now underway. Decisions on the funding of (sub)projects are made carefully by Brainport Foundation on the basis of independent advice.

When Paulen joined DDF in 2013, he could not have foreseen staying for so long. “It quickly became clear what an incredible adventure it would be. I fell in love with the design field and was given the opportunity to shape our programmes – from Dutch Design Week (DDW) to strengthening DDF’s national position and expanding its role as a connector in the design field. Dutch Design Week is back! To mark our 25th edition we’re embracing both reflection and progress with the theme: Past. Present. Possible. An important call to keep room for experimentation. For nine days, thousands of (inter)national young and iconic designers will present their work in public squares, former factories, and key locations across the city. Don’t expect polished end products, but raw ideas, critical questions, and sensory experiences.
