Become a Design Guide
As a Design Guide, you play an important role in the visitor experience. You lead Design Tours, guiding groups through the programme and making the stories behind the work visible, accessible and relevant. It’s an opportunity to deepen your knowledge, meet new people and expand your professional network. At the same time, you contribute to how design is experienced and understood during DDW. Dutch Design Week takes place this year from Saturday, October 17 to Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The theme of Dutch Design Week
A sense of change is in the air. Systems are shifting, and old certainties are giving way to new possibilities. We live in a world that appears increasingly polished: smoothed out, optimised, filtered and packaged into something that feels controllable. Yet beneath that polished surface, life unfolds. It rebels, challenges, grows and gives rise to something new. That is where things are raw and authentic. That is where R.A.W. (Rebel Authentic Worth) begins.
The theme of Dutch Design Week
Daar is het R.A.W. (Rebel Authentic Worth).
The call for entries is now live
From 17 to 25 October, Eindhoven transforms into a city of experimentation and new perspectives, where designers present their work to a global audience. Dutch Design Week (DDW) invites designers to set the course of the future. Projects can be submitted by 16 June. With this Call for Entries we call on the full spectrum of the field—from the speculative to the industrial, the research-driven to the hands-on.
SECRID DESIGN LIVE TALK: How do we navigate ownership in design?
This will be the main topic of the fourth edition of the DESIGN LIVE TALK at Secrid HQ on December 11. During this event, Mel van Dijk ((un)woven), Eden Harrison (Carbon Cell), Itika Gupta (Dungselabs & Daily Dump), Reinier Bosch (Solarix) and Secrid founders René van Geer and Marianne van Sasse van Ysselt will dive into the challenges and opportunities of Intellectual Property in today’s design landscape, where creativity, responsibility, and innovation intersect.
Thank you for coming! See you at Dutch Design Week 2026
This milestone edition brought together our creative community to reflect on 25 years of design, dialogue, and progress. We don’t wait for the future: we shape it together. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved alongside our community: the diversity of design and conversation, the new connections formed, and the sense of collective momentum built over nine inspiring days. Designers continue to show how creativity drives change, shaping both the design of the future and the future of design.
Former beacons at Dutch Design Week 2025: Bas van de Poel, Stefan Diez, and many more
Bas van de Poel As Innovation Director and co-founder of Modem, Bas van de Poel explores what’s next for design education — at a time when everything is shifting. In an era shaped by political tension and the rapid rise of AI, he questions how we teach, learn, and imagine as designers. His programme looks beyond the classroom, asking what kind of creative mindset the future truly needs. A design studio is more than the work it produces.
