DeadAnt is an online publication and new media venture focussed on comedy. Standup comedy is here and its time is now, and we believe its potential for impact is massive. So we’re going to do everything we can to keep you up to date on what’s up—news, reviews and interviews; the big fish and the small fry; your favourite comedians RN, who you’re going to be obsessed with next, and where you can watch everyone live.
It’s an effort to chronicle and track the changing landscape of the most exciting space right now in pop culture, without using the words ‘edgy’ or ‘alternative’ (harder than you think). Through this, we hope to also play a small part in engaging and growing the community.

Tarang Hardikar Wins A Neurodiverse Review Award On His Edinburgh Fringe Debut
Tarang Hardikar has won the Neurodiverse Review’s Actually Autistic Award at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe for his solo show If I’m Not Wrong. The awards celebrate neurodiverse acts, productions or shows at the Fringe that are considered exceptional and innovative. The award bagged by Hardikar aims to recognise “actual autistic” talent at the Fringe, noting the long history of autistic people being misrepresented in performance.
‘Why Do We All Have To Do Everything?’: Prashasti Singh On Standup, Her Upcoming Special And Finding Her Medium
Prashasti Singh is in that strange space between finishing one chapter and figuring out how to begin the next. Her latest standup show, Divine Feminine, has been with her since late 2024, taking her across the world, evolving with every performance and eventually becoming the first show she felt deserved to be released as a full-length special. Now, with the special recorded and slated for release on 20 August, Singh is doing something harder: letting go of the material.
The BroCode Big Line Up: 50 Comedians, Eight Hours of Comedy And A Crowd That Still Wanted More
Standup comedy isn’t usually designed to be consumed in eight-hour sittings. And yet, on a Sunday afternoon in Gurugram earlier this month, around 4,500 people did exactly that. Oriole Entertainment’s BroCode The Big Line Up, held at A DOT by GNH, brought together around 50 performers for a comedy marathon that tested just how much comedy an audience could take and, more importantly, whether it could keep coming back for more. Comedian Kunal Kamra performed at The Underground Comedy Club in Koramangala on August 2 under heavy police security after opposition from a Hindutva organisation led to a rescheduling of the show and a venue change for his remaining Bengaluru performances, reported The News Minute. Attendees passed through police barricades, frisking and security checks before entering the venue, where Karnataka State Reserve Police personnel and Bengaluru city police officers were deployed.
Munawar Faruqui And Aaditya Kulshreshth Join ‘The Traitors’ Season 2
Prime Video has confirmed that comedians Munawar Faruqui and Aaditya Kulshrestha (Kullu) will be part of The Traitors Season 2, hosted by Karan Johar. The reality series returns on August 13, with new episodes dropping every Thursday and a 21-member celebrity line-up competing in a game of trust, deception and betrayal. For Faruqui, this marks another outing in the reality TV space. The comedian previously won both Lock Upp and ‘Bigg Boss 17’. For Kullu, this marks his reality show debut.
