The first phase of the installations begins next month, (July). Eleven libraries will have the technology installed between July and March 2027. Those libraries are Kingsteignton, Axminster, Sidmouth, Kingskerswell, Holsworthy, Combe Martin, Crediton, Dawlish, Honiton, Teignmouth and Budleigh Salterton. The installations follow a successful trial at Cullompton library earlier this year, and a trial due to start soon in Northam.

In April a decision on a plan to build retirement homes on the old Bramdean School playing field in Heavitree was deferred to give local people the chance to draw up plans to buy it themselves. New Department for Education (DfE) progression data places Exeter College 4th nationally for GCSE Maths and 7th for GCSE English for all learners out of 154 General Further Education Colleges in England. For those with the most barriers to learning, Exeter College is placed 2nd nationally for English and 3rd for Maths.
More than 100 patients were seen at the event held in May, which was delivered in partnership with Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and community partners, formed part of a wider NHS Devon-led recovery programme designed to improve access to community MSK services and support people to access both specialist health services along with the breadth of VCSE and other local services available.
The proposed new home would be built on Devon County Council land in Cofton, 1.5 miles north of Dawlish. It would replace the existing Atkinson Secure Children’s Home in Exeter. The Atkinson home supports some of the most vulnerable young people, including those at risk of serious harm. The current building is reaching the end of its life. It is no longer suitable for the range of therapeutic support young people now need.
