or more than three decades, Mark Solotroff has occupied a singular place in the world of power electronics and industrial noise. Best known as the driving force behind BLOODYMINDED, Solotroff emerged from the fertile and confrontational underground surrounding Wax Trax! Records in 1980s Chicago, where punk, industrial music, experimental art, and transgressive performance collided in ways that permanently reshaped underground culture.

In this interview, we speak with writer, musician, and Buddhist shaman Sheer Zed about his book Thai Tattoo Magick: The Initiatory Practices of the Thai Buddhist Magicians. Drawing from four transformative journeys through Thailand, Zed explores the sacred world of Sak Yant tattoos, Buddhist ritual practices, spirit work, and personal initiation.

Negative Frequencies is an event curated by Stephen Bessac (Night Wolf) which is named after a song from his Hardcore band Kickback. The second installment was located in Paris, France, featuring exclusive performances by Kristian Olsson, Vomir, Legion V.K, Scum F.C, SD.KFZ, Night Wolf, Imminent Death, Sanitation, Un Regard Froid, Venerance, and Pierre-Marc Tremblay’s Âmes Sanglantes, with a special guest—of course, James Light’s MEATPACKER.

For as long as I can remember, there have been conversations and debates around Record Store Day (RSD) and people seem to love to have strong opinions, usually opposing the matter.
