[Review] Neon Music Festival 2025, EDM concert in Malaysia
For over a decade now, Electro Dance Music (EDM) has been rising in Malaysia, and April 11 was proof of that. What happened on April 11? Well, it was the night of NEON Music Festival 2025. The event promised top of the line DJs—as expected, there was a high-octane blend of powerhouses, progressive elegance, and local legends. But beyond the star-studded cast of performers, how did the event go, and was it worth attending?
PARKROYAL COLLECTION KL’s high-tea buffet was nothing like we expected, but we’re here for it
Hearing the words “high tea buffet,” I imagine a few things. One, a bright, floral inspired space, tables lined with lace and fine china crockery. Two, a spread of dainty desserts and bite-sized savoury pastries and snacks. Three, tea being put front and centre, perhaps even with multiple varieties for one to choose from. But PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur’s high tea buffet at Thyme, the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, was none of that. Yet, it still impressed us.
This retro, Wes Anderson-inspired boutique hotel in KL will have you romanticising your life
Even if you’re no cinephile, it’s likely that this hotel in KL will evoke famed director Wes Anderson’s art style. Stepping through The Très Hotel’s doors, I can almost hear the familiar tune of Obituary from The French Dispatch, which trended on TikTok some years back when everyone was romanticising their lives by pretending they’re in an Anderson picture. I can’t help but judge this book by its cover, though.

Fam-bam Fitness Junkie Thrill Seeker They say there’s always a first time for everything. When I embarked on this trip, I wasn’t expecting to tick off items from my bucket list. I simply thought it would be like any other beach getaway—a relaxing escape with some waves and sun. But a 3D2N stay at Club Med Cherating—which starts from RM800+ per night—turned out to be so much more than just another resort stay.
We visited homegrown gelato biz GIOIA’s new Chinatown store to learn what makes it so premium
Malaysia doesn’t lack gelato options, but one new kid on the block to keep your eye on is GIOIA. With its powdery baby blue branding giving it that quintessential summery vibe, the brand first captured the taste buds of patrons at its beautiful glasshouse gelateria in Jade Hills. Now, just under a year later, it’s unveiled a new double-storey gelateria, this time in the bustling area of Chinatown. We dropped by to taste the goods and admire the view, so here’s what you can expect from a visit.
The Westin KL’s citrus-themed Christmas buffet is a refreshing take on the festive dinner
When shopping malls start playing that one Mariah Carey song, you know it’s time—time for a Christmas buffet review, that is. This year, we had the opportunity to try The Westin Kuala Lumpur’s “Citrus Wonderland: A Clementine Christmas” spread at The Living Room. I must admit, I was initially confused by the theme. What does this citrusy fruit have to do with the most joyous time of the year?
Last-min Christmas shopping? Don’t miss Hooga’s big storewide discounts & enchanting offers.
[This is a sponsored post with HOOGA.] I’ll admit, I’ve never really been a good gifter. I used to dread Christmas shopping, because what do you get for people who already seem to have everything they need? But this year, I’ve suddenly discovered the joy of getting a good find. And by a good find, I mean that it accomplishes three things: It’s practical. It’s aesthetically pleasing. It’ll remind the person of me every time it’s used.

Held at The Gardens Hotel in October, the 30th edition of KLIAVS was audiophiles and videophiles’ dreams come true. Even though we’re no experts in the subject matter, we still had a blast exploring the event, and here are some of the cool brands with gadgets and gizmos that caught our eyes. 1. CINEMAGICA by GOLDENDUCK Did someone say home theatres?
