Hercules DJ presented the new DJControl Inpulse 300 MK2 recently at NAMM 2022 (yes, that still is around!). The updated version of the original DJControl Inpulse 300 improves the original unit on several points. The most notable addition is the support for Serato DJ. Another visible change is the use of backlit performance pads. Hercules also says the jog wheels will be improved, and light guides will be added to the tempo faders and jog wheels to help beginners with beatmatching.

This new battle mixer for Serato DJ Pro sits between the DJM-S3 and the DJM-S7 and inherits many of the DJM-S7’s pro features. The most distinctive features are the effect levers to trigger Serato DJ effects and the 4 performance pads per channel.

Reloop has just launched their most professional DJ controller yet: the Mixon 8 Pro. This brand new controller is designed to be used with Serato DJ Lite or Serato DJ Pro but is also compatible with Algoriddim’s djay Pro AI. It even has an integrated docking bay for a large iPad. The Mixon 8 Pro has 4 channels and a hardware mixer, with FX toggle switches for each channel (I love those!).

Numark just launched their newest controller, the NS4FX. This controller is best described as a plus-sized version of the Platinum FX. The NS4FX has 4 channels, toggle FX, and professional inputs and outputs and offers much more versatility compared to the smaller entry-level controllers. The jog wheels have a central LCD screen that displays basic track info, such as BPM and time elapsed/remaining on the loaded track, among other things.

Pioneer DJ has just launched the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV7 Serato DJ Pro controller and the entry-level DDJ-REV1. The DDJ-REV7 is aimed at professional DJs (open format, scratch) and is basically a controller version of two turntables and a battle mixer in one relatively compact package. The main attraction is definitely the 7-inch spinning jog wheels with a central LCD screen.

The Numark Mixstream Pro is a compact, affordable all in one DJ controller that uses Engine DJ platform from Denon DJ. As its name suggests, it’s equiped with WIFI to enable streaming tracks from various online DJ streaming platform such as SoundCloud, Beatport and Tidal.

AIAIAI just launched the TMA-2 Studio Wireless+, the wireless version of their TMA-2 studio series of headphones. I reviewed their previous TMA-2 studio series a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality, sound and eco-friendly materials used. Pioneer DJ has launched today the brand new Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX3, the successor of the XDJ-RX2. This new mediaplayer carries over a lot of features of existing top end products from Pioneer DJ, such as the CDJ-3000 media player and the DJM-900NXS2 top-end mixer. The most distinctive feature is without a doubt the large 10.1 inch screen, featuring a faster and more accurate touch function and advanced library features.
