Sherrill and Caldwell. NJ Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s office has launched an internal investigation into Lt. Governor Dale Caldwell over allegations of inappropriate behavior toward women and possible ethics violations, including claims he offered state jobs. The New Jersey Globe confirmed the probe, led by former state Attorney General Christopher Porrino and law partner Shontae Gray, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney. They’ve been interviewing complainants, including state employees, and other witnesses.

Legal and regulatory fights continue, and a future administration could easily revive these projects with fresh incentives and fast-tracked approvals.

Small’s Not-So-Great-Day Atlantic City’s casino industry could lose more than one-third of its workforce and 44% of its revenue within a decade, according to a stark new report from the Atlantic County Economic Alliance. The report projects New York casino expansion could eliminate roughly 5,100 local casino jobs and $815 million in annual revenue by 2035. If two additional North Jersey casinos are also approved, those losses would surge to more than 8,100 jobs and nearly $1.3 billion in revenue.

Jim Kennedy of @ACEconPolicy says converting 50% of the Sheraton Convention Center HQ Hotel to senior restricted housing is the single worst Atlantic City public policy decision made in the past 25 years. But it pales in comparison to the action steps required that room conversion will effectively result in the closure of the Sheraton Hotel for a one year period when redevelopment take place. Dozens of convention contracts are going to have to to be renegotiated to far less desirable hotel sites.
