Source: Indonesia Energy Indonesia Energy discovered good quality oil during testing operations at its newly drilled K-29 well at the Kruh Block on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, the company said 2 September 2026. K-29 was spud 25 July 2026 and reached a total depth of 3,378 ft. Production operations at K-29 are expected to begin within the next couple weeks.

ExxonMobil Guyana is continuing developmental drilling operations at the Whiptail Project’s WT_4i04A drill center within the Stabroek Block, offshore Guyana. The MODU Noble Bob Douglas is carrying out the drilling, with operations set to run through 30 September 2026. The WT_4i04A drill center sits about 110.85 nautical miles off the coast of Guyana within the country’s exclusive economic zone and covers an area of roughly 0.29 sq nautical miles.

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Oil and Gas cleared Hilcorp Alaska to drill two new wells on two pads at its Pretty Creek unit on the west side of Cook Inlet. In related approvals, the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission issued drilling permits for the Pretty Creek Unit 06 and 06A wells on Pad 2, and the PCU D-12 well on the Diamond Pad.

Baker Hughes' StimFORCE modular stimulation system combines the capabilities of a stimulation pumping vessel with the flexibility of modular skid units. Baker Hughes secured a contract from BP to provide offshore stimulation services across the operator’s UK North Sea operations. The award covers both new well development and enhanced recovery from mature fields.

TotalEnergies completed its entry as operator of Namibia’s PEL83 license, home to the giant Mopane discovery, and said it will begin an appraisal campaign of three wells at the discovery as early as H2 2026. The company is targeting FID on the project in 2028. The completed transaction saw TotalEnergies acquire a 40% operated interest in PEL83 from Galp, while Galp acquired a 10% interest in the PEL56 license, which holds the Venus discovery, and a 9.39% interest in PEL91 from TotalEnergies.

RH Petrogas confirmed strong gas and condensate deliverability, along with an unexpected oil discovery, from well testing at the Northwest Klagagi-1 (NWK-1) well in the Kepala Burung production sharing contract in Southwest Papua, Indonesia.

Baker Hughes signed a multi-year contract with OGDCL to maximize production performance from OGDCL’s mature oil and gas fields in Pakistan. The agreement builds on a decades-long relationship between the two companies and supports Pakistan’s efforts to source more of its energy from domestic resources. Baker Hughes will evaluate more than 120 wells across OGDCL’s Tando Alam Oil Complex and Pirkoh field and develop redevelopment plans aligned with OGDCL’s production targets and economic objectives.

BP started production from the Fayoum 4 well in Egypt’s West Nile Delta, bringing the well onstream about two years ahead of the original schedule. The well is adding approximately 80,000 mcf/d of gas to Egypt’s domestic supply, according to Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. BP discovered Fayoum during a 2025 exploration campaign and later drilled a sidetrack from the well to reach additional Messinian reservoir layers at a depth of about 3,000 m.

The Gippsland Basin joint venture between Esso Australia, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, and Woodside Energy completed drilling five new production wells under the Turrum Phase 3 project, with the Valaris 107 jackup demobilized from the Marlin B Complex following the campaign. The wells target underdeveloped gas resources in the Turrum and North Turrum fields, located about 42 km off the Gippsland coastline in Victoria.
