The DRM Consortium will be represented at eLearning Africa 2026, taking place in Accra, Ghana, from 3–5 June 2026, by Edugist, a Nigerian education and media organisation. Visitors to the Edugist booth will have the opportunity to experience demonstrations of DRM-based educational services as received and viewed on a tablet device.

Mobile Devices with over one billion mobile phones alone are a feature of Indian life. 76% of radio listeners in India leverage their mobile devices over standalone sets [TRAI / industry data]. At the same time, free-to-air broadcast radio remains a vital public infrastructure for news, entertainment, education, rural connectivity, and national emergency alerts.

A delegation from Papua New Guinea visited RRI Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on 18–19 May 2026 to learn more about Indonesia’s implementation of digital radio technologies. The direct purpose of this visit was to provide technical understanding to the delegation from the National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) of Papua New Guinea regarding the implementation of digital radio broadcasting in Indonesia.

DRM Consortium members  Fraunhofer IIS, Nautel and RFmondial as well as Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union will participate in BroadcastAsia 2026, taking place from in Singapore 20–22 May 2026. BroadcastAsia is one of Asia’s major broadcast and media industry events, bringing together broadcasters, technology providers, and media professionals from across the region.

The DRM Consortium General Assembly 2026, a comprehensive two-day event, concluded in Jakarta, Indonesia, on May 6th. This was the first time that the DRM Consortium partnered with an important broadcaster and DRM member, Radio Republik Indonesia, RRI, to hold its annual meeting in a country of the Asia-Pacific region where DRM is currently the prevalent digital broadcasting standard.

The successful DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) General Assembly hosted together with RRI in Jakarta, Indonesia, welcomed the launch of the significantly enhanced DRM Handbook version 6. The DRM Handbook is a hands-on resource that explains the practical application of DRM on transmission and receiving site and its content possibilities.

During the first day of the DRM General Assembly held in cooperation with Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI)  at the RRI Headquarters Jakarta, DRM member CML Micro unveiled a dual-standard receiver. On May 5th the DRM open day and seminar included an updated global DRM review and a receiver session attended by manufacturers from Germany, China, India, Korea and UK.
