Bethell smashed five sixes and five fours in his 46-ball knock as England chased down the target of 191 in 19 overs. England were jolted early when India's left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh dismissed both openers -- Phil Salt and Jos Buttler -- for ducks in a sensational opening spell.

CHENNAI: Cloudy skies and light showers brought much-needed relief from the heat for Chennai residents on Saturday (July 4), with the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) forecasting similar weather conditions to continue through the weekend. CHENNAI: In the Tamil Nadu Teachers' Eligibility Test (TNTET) held for in-service teachers across Tamil Nadu on Saturday (July 4), as many as 59,535 candidates appeared for the exam. The government and private teachers who appeared for the exam expressed disappointment that the paper 1 held on Saturday was tougher than anticipated. TNTET paper 2 is scheduled today. Across TN, as many as 61,386 candidates registered for the paper 1 exam, which was conducted at 222 centres.

CHENNAI: Police arrested two drug peddlers who allegedly engaged minors to distribute narcotic substances in and around Kannagi Nagar. Based on a tip-off that ganja and narcotic tablets were being sold in the Puthupettai Canal area, a special team led by Inspector S Saravanan conducted a raid and arrested the accused, Sengottaiyan (30) and Karthi (24) - both residents of Kannagi Nagar. Police seized 1.2 kg of ganja and 20 narcotic tablets.

On Saturday, Kolathur police arrested Saran based on a complaint from a woman, Lourdu Sahayamary, who stated in her complaint that Saran targeted her online, taking objection to her videos in praise of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay. She further claimed that he posted videos abusing her in obscene and derogatory language and ridiculing her appearance. Claiming that the online abuse left her with suicidal thoughts, she sought legal action against the accused.
