Fellow EANGUS Members, As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, we reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who chose a new path and declared that their voices deserved to be heard. What many Americans may not realize is that the National Guard is actually older than the nation itself. Our lineage traces back to December 13, 1636 – more than 140 years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

June 2026 Drill Talking Points Calls to Action: Turning Support into Results Last month, EANGUS launched two Calls to Action: the Major Richard Star Act Discharge Petition and the National Guard Relief Act. Our members responded in force. Legislative success depends on more than having good ideas. EANGUS also hosted two Legislative Townhalls to discuss these Calls To Action, the finer details of the legislation, and answer questions from members.

The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS) has formally expressed its support for Legislative Proposal 291 (LP291), the National Guard Dual-Status Technician Conversions and Phase-Out proposal, by submitting letters to Congressional leadership and the House and Senate Armed Services Committees as part of the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) process.

🏁 Start Your Engines! 🏁 The road to Daytona officially begins June 1 as EANGUS launches the “Race to Daytona” Membership Drive — a nationwide effort designed to grow the Association, strengthen our collective voice, and fuel the future of EANGUS. Running from June 1 through the opening of the EANGUS National Conference in Daytona Beach, the campaign challenges State Associations and Areas across the country to recruit new members and compete for top honors.

As Memorial Day approaches, EANGUS President CMSgt Josh J. Baker shares a message reflecting on the true meaning of this solemn day of remembrance. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend – it is a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, remember our fallen brothers and sisters, and reflect on the enduring impact they have on our military family and our nation.

The National Guard Relief Act was introduced by Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) and Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) in a step toward designating the National Guard Relief Foundation (NGRF) as an official military welfare society. EANGUS is excited to announce that official EANGUS polo shirts are now available for order through our partner, Battle Cry Gear! This is your opportunity to represent the Enlisted Association with pride while supporting a veteran-owned small business. From now through May 30, members, supporters, and partners can place orders directly through Battle Cry Gear. Once the order window closes, all polos will move into production and ship shortly after—just in time to gear up for upcoming events.

EANGUS is preparing to expand member engagement on legislative priorities. We are seeing real progress across several key issues, and continued success will depend on strong, unified advocacy from our members. Momentum is building on legislation such as the Major Richard Star Act and No Federal Tax on Inactive Duty Training (IDT) Pay, among others. To capitalize on this progress, EANGUS will be launching a coordinated Call to Action effort.
