Kneehill County council had some suggestions for the design of a new camp shelter, but ultimately approved it. The approval was made at the March 25 regular meeting of council. Hanna Town Council Hears Serious Crimes Down, Traffic Stops Up – ECA Review
The Town of Hanna council heard that serious crimes in the municipality appear to be down in number, while traffic stops by police have increased. The latest Hanna RCMP detachment report was made at council’s March 25 information meeting. Readers should note information meetings are not technically “regular meetings,” and resolutions usually aren’t passed until a regular meeting is held. Councillors heard the third quarter stats update from Hanna RCMP detachment member Cpl. Kyle Westcott.

The Town of Hanna council discussed changes to a playschool service in municipal space, but decided to wait before any decisions about that space. Last Issue: Roller Coaster Of Emotions – ECA Review
It’s a roller coaster of emotions as we publish the last issue of the East Central Alberta Review, formerly the Coronation Review. It’s been 114 years; and 2,193 issues since I started in November, 1980. That’s over a million and a half pages of information! Plus 17 Tourist and eight Business Profile magazines and a 718-page ‘Back In Time’ hard-covered history book from the pages of 100 years of history recorded in the Coronation Review.
Addicted Newspaper Reader - ECA Review
Hi Joyce, Bryan Mahoney here. You and I were Benchers of the Law Society back in the 90’s. I heard you this morning on the CBC Radio about the sad news of the closure of your newspaper after all these years. Well I recall our informal chats back in the Bencher days. Your common sense (non-legalese) contribution to all discussions were welcomed, particularly with the LSA trying to communicate its message to the public.
Voters Deserve Accountability - ECA Review
Dear Editor, Thank you, County of Stettler, for ruining my retirement! I write with sheer frustration at the County of Stettler’s mishandling of the rezoning of NW 9-39-19-W4. This change, initiated to support the Alberta BioBord development—a project that has failed to materialize—was executed without proper adherence to procedural steps or transparency, in my opinion. Years later, the County remains determined to cement this industrial zoning in the new Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP). Why?
Good Fortune To Everyone – ECA Review
Dear Ms. Webster, I just wanted to say how sad I am that the ECA Review is going the way of too many local newspapers. I will miss its appearance in my mailbox every Thursday very much. I moved to Stettler a bit over three years ago now, and I found, even though most of the content was reports on community administrations, it really helped me get oriented in my new area of residence, and get up to speed on local concerns.
