When someone has been buying the same item from the same restaurant for 30 years, you know it has to be good. That’s how long Camille and Peter Robertson have been going to Vi’s For Pies on Stony Plain Road in Glenora. The Robertsons agree that the reason they keep choosing Vi’s is the consistency. The Bumbleberry Pie is their favourite, and the shop has been making it to the same high standards the entire time they’ve been going.

Be careful what you wish for. The provincial government is promoting Alberta as a great place to build data centres, touting inexpensive natural gas to power the energy-intensive facilities, abundant and relatively cheap land, and a deregulated electricity market that makes it easier for developers to “bring their own power” to the party. It’s true. Alberta is a great place for a company looking to build a data centre.

Celeigh Cardinal grew up in Grande Prairie, where she also started her career as a musician before moving to Edmonton in 2011. She’s been a full-time musician since 2016. “There are so many different musical communities here, to network and collaborate with,” she says. “The first award I ever got was an Edmonton Music Award.” That community keeps her here, and the landscape of Alberta calls to her, especially its rivers and lakes.
