June 2026 The Nominating Committee for the AERA Special Interest Groups (SIG) Executive Committee seeks recommendations for well-qualified candidates to run for the positions of chair-elect and member-at-large in the 2027 election. The chair-elect will serve a one-year term as chair-elect followed by a two-year term as chair (simultaneously serving as the SIG representative to AERA Council). The member-at-large will serve a three-year term.
2027 AERA Award Nominations Now Open-Submit by October 14
July 2026 AERA is accepting nominations for the 2027 AERA Awards, which recognize outstanding contributions to education research, public service, mentoring, scholarship, and research communication. Nominations are due by Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 11:59 pm Pacific Time and must be submitted electronically through the AERA APPLY portal. “It is more important now than ever to recognize and celebrate excellence in education research,” said AERA Executive Director Tabbye M. Each year, the committee advances a slate of nominations for president-elect and two member-at-large positions. Members are encouraged to recommend persons with experience appropriate to both posts. The nominees will run for office in the 2027 election. The president-elect serves a one-year term in the elect position, then one year as president and one year as past president.

PEERS STEM Data and Data Use Series
The AERA-ICPSR Partnership for Expanding Education Research in STEM (PEERS) Data Hub Series in STEM Data and Data Use, features workshops that examine the structure, design, and purpose of multiple data sets that can be analyzed using quantitative, qualitative, and/or multi-method techniques. In these workshops participants can explore diverse forms of designed data, administrative data, and big data that can be used in STEM research.
2026 Annual Meeting Authors Can Upload Papers and Presentations Through June 30
May 2026 Although the 2026 AERA Annual Meeting has concluded, accepted authors still have time to upload or update their work in the AERA Online Paper Repository and AERA i-Presentation Gallery. The deadline to submit or revise papers and presentations is June 30 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Both platforms will make 2026 Annual Meeting content openly available on August 15. The AERA meetings team will send accepted authors detailed instructions for uploading and updating papers and presentations.
