Crimean gas stations have halted all fuel sales, with gasoline reserved exclusively for “public services that ensure life and security” on the peninsula. In a video message announcing the decision on June 21, the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, urged “everyone to stay calm and trust only official sources of information”, adding that he would update residents on “further decisions in connection with the situation in the fuel market”.
BRICS silent on US-Israel war against Iran
On May 14-15, BRICS foreign ministers met in New Delhi to exchange views on “major global and regional matters”. In a document summarizing the results of the two-day summit, the bloc reaffirmed its commitment to the “BRICS spirit of mutual respect and understanding, equality, solidarity, openness, inclusiveness, and consensus”.
Scott Ritter: Moscow faces strategic defeat in Ukraine
On February 20, 2026, a “Flamingo” long-range cruise missile hit the Votkinsk Machine Building Plant, a defense enterprise located in Russia’s Udmurt Republic—more than 1300 km from the border with Ukraine. Moscow has very clear protocols for responding to these types of attacks: Russian state media publishes a comment from Scott Ritter about how it’s not a big deal and Ukraine is about to collapse anyway.
Victory Day
The village’s eternal flame In March 2025 your former Novgorod village correspondent began keeping a journal that was checked for grammatical and typographical errors by Irina as part of a short-lived attempt to improve our caveman Russian. The following text is our best attempt at a word-for-word translation of a journal entry written on May 11, 2025. On May 9 I went to the village social club with Katya, Tanya, and Vera Mikhailovna. The party soon turned into farce.
Russian government judo-chops internet & cows
Over the past several weeks, the Russian government has made a series of decisions so thoroughly perplexing that some Russians now believe they are witnessing a conscious and deliberate effort to detonate their country from within. (Probably your own government is behaving similarly. See? We aren’t so different after all. Why can’t we all just get along?) Today I would like to share with you a sampling of Russian-language commentaries on this subject. But first: Some brief background.
Agitating for mind-revolution
Iain Davis, “disillusioned blogger”, distinguished author, and (by his own admission) recreational vaper, was kind enough to answer a few questions via email. We spoke about Iain’s plot to instigate a global mind-revolution, among other topics that have surely earned him a prominent spot on various government lists. Iain is a terrific journalist and I am grateful he took the time to chat with me.
No water for Donetsk, but lots of tasty Russian gas for NATO!
Time for another lesson from the SMO.
No "security guarantees" for the peasants!
Security: It’s what everyone craves. But when Davos-groomed Goldman Sachs errand boys meet with Kabballah-braceleted real estate developers to discuss “security guarantees”, what are these weirdos actually discussing? Security for whom, exactly? Or maybe it would be more appropriate to ask: Security for what? Let’s not forget that yachts and gas pipelines also need security guarantees and are clearly more deserving of them than you or I.
Friendly banker can't stop cattle-tagging Russian children
The “biometric entrance” at the “school of the future”. I come bearing predictable news. From our friends at Katyusha.org: Our dire forecast regarding the implementation of biometrics in schools, which we presented in a large analytical report in early December, is being confirmed.
Don't waddle away
Imagine minding your own business and then quite out of nowhere receiving an email from a certain “Edward Slavsquat” asking if you would be willing to answer a few questions. “Sure,” you reply out of politeness. “Great. First question: WHAT’S THE POINT OF ALL THIS?” Kit Knightly, editor of OffGuardian, was kind enough to humor me. Don’t forget to follow OffGuardian on Telegram and subscribe to Kit’s Substack.
