Elekta EIB lends Stockholm-based Elekta €100 million to boost treatments for cancer and neurological conditions ranging from tumors in the brain and body to essential tremor and certain forms of epilepsy. Loan supports company’s work on improved treatments for millions of cancer and neurological patients worldwide. Research to take place mainly in Sweden and the Netherlands between 2026 and 2029.

TECHEU VD NH1 TIDAL POWER (IEU GT4) NORMANDIE HYDROLIENNES SAS Energy - Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply The project supports the construction and commissioning of NH1, a 12 MW pilot (FOAK) tidal array located in Raz Blanchard, off the coast of Normandy, France. The aim is to develop and deploy a 12 MW first-of-a-kind tidal energy array in Raz Blanchard, using four 3 MW submerged tidal turbines to generate approximately 34 GWh of renewable electricity annually.

EGAP COUNTER-GUARANTEE ALLOCATION I This is the first counter-guarantee allocation to Škoda Group in support of a rolling-stock export project in Uzbekistan. Specifically, the project involves the acquisition by Uzbekistan Railways of up to 10 electric multiple units (EMUs), to be manufactured and supplied by the Škoda Group.

Under appraisal | 30/03/2026 ILB LOAN FOR SMES MIDCAPS & CLIMATE ACTION INTESA LEASING DOO BEOGRAD The project consists of a loan to Intesa Leasing Beograd, acting as an intermediary, to provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-caps in Serbia with long-term leasing solutions to finance investments in productive assets. The aim is to improve access to long-term financing for SMEs and mid-caps in Serbia, enabling investments in productive and cleaner fixed assets.

World Food Programme Up to €4 million grant to the World Food Programme to support microinsurance for smallholder farmers in Ethiopia. Grant complements EIB’s €110 million credit line to the third phase of Ethiopia’s Rural Financial Intermediation Programme. Around 210,000 smallholder farmers are expected to be covered by adapted microinsurance products against crop and livestock losses linked to adverse weather conditions or natural disasters.

Under appraisal | 22/04/2026 NORTHERN GHANA WATER AND SANITATION PROGRAM Water, sewerage - Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities The project will finance investments in upgrading the water supply infrastructure in Ghana's northern cities of Tamale and Damongo and adjacent settlements, and the construction of three faecal sludge treatment facilities in the cities of Wa, Bolgatanga and Yendi.
