Electronics 360
VerifiedOnline/Digital
Welcome to Electronics360. We are a new online publication launched in February 2013 covering the business and technology of electronics as it impacts myriad industries across the global economy. Our mission is to provide content that helps our readers peer over the horizon, understand consequences and connections, and above all manage risk. We write for strategic planners, product designers, procurement and supply chain professionals. That is, decision makers. We tackle big complex strategic topics as well as tactical issues. Source

Teledyne launches Linea HS2 8k camera for ultra-high-speed imaging in low-light conditions
Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and developer of machine vision technology, has released its next-generation Linea HS2 8k backside illuminated (BSI) 1 MHz Time Delay Integration (TDI) camera.
Intel’s Panther Lake using ASML’s High NA EUV lithography
In a move ASML Holding N.V. calls a demonstration of high-numerical aperture (High-NA) extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography’s readiness in a production environment, Intel has introduced the technology for its Panther Lake processors, which has been built on its 18 A process node. Panther Lake is the code name for Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors that are manufactured on Intel’s most advanced process technology in its fabs.
Fully robotic pharmacy debuts with automated prescription dispensing
In what is being called a world’s first, California-based robotics startup Queue has developed a fully autonomous robotic pharmacy capable of automating prescription dispensing, verification and delivery. According to the company, the platform accepts sealed wholesale medication bottles and returns these filled, verified prescription vials with little human intervention.
Hamamatsu Photonics supports IceCube upgrade, strengthening neutrino measurements in Antarctic ice
Hamamatsu Photonics marks the successful deployment of the IceCube Upgrade at the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station, delivered by the IceCube Collaboration. The newly installed sensor strings deployed deep into Antarctic ice enhance IceCube’s ability to record the faint Cherenkov light produced when neutrinos interact in the ice, supporting more precise measurements across an expanded energy range.
Dual Hazardous Location Cabinet Cooler Systems protect large electrical enclosures in classified areas
EXAIR's Dual Hazardous Location Cabinet Cooler Systems provide a powerful, maintenance-free solution for protecting large electrical enclosures in hazardous environments. Designed for classified areas, including Class I Div 1, Groups A, B, C and D; Class II Div 1, Groups E, F and G; and Class III, these high-capacity cooling systems prevent overheating of sensitive electronics while eliminating the need for costly air conditioners or vortex fans.
New York becomes first state to halt data center growth
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed an executive order to create what is claimed to be the nation’s first statewide moratorium on new hyperscale data centers. Hochul said the executive order establishes the strongest standards for data center development in America and creates a blueprint to support localities. The pause is for up to one year to build a regulatory framework that protects ratepayers, the environment, the energy grid and communities in New York.
EleTac mimics an elephant's trunk with touch-sensitive soft robotics
A team of researchers from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) has developed a soft robotic gripper inspired by the tip of an elephant's trunk. According to its developers, EleTac addresses a challenge encountered by soft grippers built from flexible materials that can bend and deform.
Silex Technology Wi-Fi 7 module for industrial automation and AI edge applications, now available from Mouser
Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now shipping the new SX-PCEBE-AP Wi-Fi 7 wireless LAN access point module from Silex Technology. The SX-PCEBE-AP module is a cutting-edge embedded device that leverages Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be) technology to deliver ultra-high-speed, low-latency wireless connectivity for industrial automation, medical devices, artificial intelligence (AI), edge computing, video surveillance and enterprise networking applications.
UMC delivers silicon photonics 300 mm wafer in mass production
Taiwanese pure-play foundry United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC) and Silith Technology claim to have first mass produced silicon photonic chips on 300 mm wafers at UMC’s Singapore fab. The mass production combines Silith’s photonics design with UMC’s manufacturing capability to support high volume production of silicon photonics for high-speed optical interconnects in AI and hyperscale data centers.
