Himachal Pradesh is set to significantly expand its green public transport network, with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announcing the procurement of 1,000 additional electric buses and plans to introduce 100 hydrogen-powered buses. The announcement was made after flagging off 297 new electric buses for the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), taking the state’s electric bus fleet to 500 vehicles.

The Union Cabinet has approved the ‘Samudra Manthan’ National Offshore Exploration Scheme with an outlay of ₹84,084 crore, marking one of India’s biggest investments in offshore oil and gas exploration. The scheme will be implemented by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas through FY 2030-31 to accelerate exploration, increase domestic hydrocarbon production and strengthen the country’s long-term energy security.
