I’ve been wanting to write a regular post for a long time, but I wasn’t sure what form I wanted it to take. I wanted it to be. Maybe an update, maybe things I’ve been intorecently, maybe things I’ve bought at charity shops… (I love shopping in charity shops/markets etc… and regularly bring back books and objects I want to talk about.) I also wanted to just write more about what I’ve been up to in the studio.

Hello! Way back in February, I joined Helen C Stark for a session drawing together inspired by the 2020 film adaptation of Emma. The Time Foragers Club is a wonderfully inspiring (and bestselling) Substack run by Helen C Stark. She is a Yorkshire-based artist and illustrator who makes beautiful illustrated journals and artwork.

Hey everyone! I’ve decided to postpone Picture Book Club, which was scheduled today. This has been a mad month for me - it’s the deadline for my new book, which will also be my first author/illustrator book, so it’s super duper important to me (they all are, of course!), and it’s also my husband’s 50th birthday on May 26th.

Hello and happy May - pinch, punch! How are you all? It’s been a busy month for me - there was Bologna Bookfair (more on that later, if I get round to writing the post!) and I’ve been working on my first author/illustrator post, which has been exciting, scary, challenging, rewarding and everything in between.
