Claire Bishop ’27, a history and art history major, is gaining experience this summer in Virginia that is preparing her for a career after graduation. Bishop is serving as a summer intern at the Office of Historic Alexandria, which oversees all the museums in Historic Alexandria. During her internship, she catalogs artifacts in the city archives, assists with citywide events and cleans museum collections.

Religion can shape how people see work, purpose, risk and success. New research by Jose Cerecedo Lopez, assistant professor of management in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, examines how those beliefs and practices may also influence entrepreneurship.

Caroline Cirby ’19 captured a packed San Francisco Bay Area Stadium ahead of the United States’ July 1 Round of 32 matchup with Bosnia and Herzegovina during the FIFA World Cup 2026. Cirby has served as a ticketing operations manager for FIFA during the tournament. As thousands of soccer fans streamed toward San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara, California, draped in national flags and chanting hours before kickoff, the energy was palpable.

When Elon University’s Department of Music set out to design a space that could fully showcase the rapidly growing world of immersive audio, they had one goal in mind: create a room where sound could be experienced, not just heard. Now, that vision has become a reality.

Saffie Hollingsworth ’27, a computer science and game design major, took a collaborative two-year project with the University of Iceland and Elon University overseas this summer, presenting at the International Consortium for Educational Development’s (ICED) 2026 conference in Spain. The project, “Beyond the Books,” is a life-simulation board game designed to help first-year students build the academic, social and emotional skills they need to navigate the transition to university.

In the early morning on June 26, 2026, attendees of the Future of Design Thinking in Higher Education (FDHE) Conference arrived for a full day of meaningful discussions, playful games and collaborative workshops on Elon University’s campus. The conference, hosted by Elon’s Center for Design Thinking and Duke University, is dedicated to bringing together individuals who study and practice design thinking into one community-focused space.
