The Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI; New York) has released the 2026 FGI Codes for Planning and Design and the new FGI Handbooks for Planning and Design, according to a news release. The 2026 editions are available on FGI OneSource, a new digital platform for accessing documents and resources. The FGI documents represent the latest consensus-based requirements and guidelines for the planning and design of hospitals, outpatient facilities, and residential care and support settings.
Evergreen Real Estate Group Begins Construction On Three Affordable Assisted Living Communities In Ohio
Owner, developer, and management company Evergreen Real Estate Group (Chicago) has started construction on three new affordable assisted living communities in Ohio, according to the Dayton Daily News. The communities are Green Oaks of Fairborn in Fairborn, Green Oaks of Grove City in Grove City, and Green Oaks of Walnut Creek in Columbus. Each project is set to deliver 120 units—67 studio and 53 one-bedroom apartments—in a 3- or 4-story building. Units feature kitchenettes and private bathrooms.

Now in its 18th year, the competition is judged by a panel of senior living design experts who review all submissions. Eligible projects focus on single spaces, including dining areas, lounges, activity areas, lobbies, and other resident spaces.
Wellington Park Apartments Affordable Senior Living Community Opens In Lexington, Kentucky
Developer AU Associates (Lexington, Ky.) has opened Wellington Park Apartments, a new affordable senior living community in Lexington, Ky., according to a news release. The $11.5 million project delivers 45 units, all of which are compliant with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). The community is located adjacent to a dog park and within walking distance of grocery and retail stores. Construction on the project started in November 2024.
Grandview Tower Senior Living Community Plans Renovation In Evansville, Indiana
Grandview Tower, a senior living community in Evansville, Ind., is planning a nearly $1.1 million renovation of its 47-year-old building, according to Evansville WFIE. The City of Evansville has invested $1.075 million in the project, which comprises upgrades to apartment interiors, including modernized kitchens and bathrooms, new flooring and doors, updated lighting and fixtures, and improved HVAC and plumbing systems.
Trilogy Health Services Plans $30M Senior Living Campus In Crestwood, Kentucky
Trilogy Health Services (Louisville, Ky.), owner and operator of more than 150 senior living communities, is planning to build a new $30 million senior living campus in Crestwood, Ky., according to wdrb.com. The project comprises 123 units offering independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing. Construction is expected to be completed in 18 months. OceanView At Falmouth Opens All-electric Independent Living Building As Part Of Expansion In Maine
OceanView at Falmouth, a senior living community in Falmouth, Maine, has opened a 2-story all-electric apartment building, according to the Portland Press Herald. The building is part of a new neighborhood called Evergreen Commons, which will add 20 independent living units across three 2-story, all-electric buildings. The other two buildings are expected to be completed this fall, and three new cottages are planned for early 2027.
EFA Conference + Expo Announces Charlotte Convention Center As Host Site For 2027 Event
The Charlotte Convention Center in downtown Charlotte, N.C., will be the host site for the 2027 Environments for Aging Conference + Expo, scheduled for April 12-14.
