Adding lookbehinds to rust-lang/regex – SYSTEMF @ EPFL
When we started benchmarking, it became evident that something caused matching with lookbehinds to run longer than needed. Once we figured out the cause, it wasn't too hard to fix, but let's first take a look at how we implemented the problematic part initially. The concept of the algorithm is to run multiple NFA simulations in lockstep, one automaton for each lookbehind and one for the main regex.
A language model built for the public good - EPFL AI Center
ETH Zurich and EPFL will release a large language model (LLM) developed on public infrastructure. Trained on the “Alps” supercomputer at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS), the new LLM marks a milestone in open-source AI and multilingual excellence. Earlier this week in Geneva, around 50 leading global initiatives and organisations dedicated to open-source LLMs and trustworthy AI convened at the International Open-Source LLM Builders Summit.

Large (Vision) Language Models are Unsupervised In-Context Learners Joint inference is a framework for large (vision) language models to perform unsupervised adaptation on a given task, resulting in the improved performance upon independent zero-shot predictions. Our framework is compatible with any existing large (vision) language model and, remarkably, despite being fully unsupervised, it often performs on par with supervised approaches that rely on ground truth labels.
