COOEC Starts Fabrication on US$4 Billion Qatar Project, Expanding Its Overseas Prime-Contractor Role
The scope covers more than 60 offshore facilities and 40 subsea pipelines and cables, alongside modifications to operating platforms and the removal of obsolete installations. More than 130,000 tonnes of steel will be processed. COOEC’s responsibilities extend from engineering and procurement through fabrication, transportation, offshore installation and commissioning, placing the company in charge of coordinating delivery across the project’s major stages.

The proceeds will primarily support core technology development and the expansion of the R&D team, while accelerating validation and commercialization in representative use cases.
CATL Starts Cell Trial Production at Planned 100 GWh Hungarian Plant
CATL announced the project in 2022 with a planned investment of €7.34 billion and annual capacity of 100 GWh once all facilities are ready. Construction of the first cell building began in summer 2023, and equipment installation was completed by spring 2026. The site obtained an occupancy permit in August, and CATL said it had met the conditions attached to its integrated pollution prevention and control permit before starting the trial.
