Estonian broadcaster (ERR) have been hard at work lately, at things are only just getting started, when it comes to the 2026 season. The names might be out, but we’re still waiting for the songs, so let’s see who we’re potentially dealing with, for 2026. Over the past two nights, Estonian broadcaster has revealed who the participants will be, for the upcoming edition of Eesti Laul 2026. This was done during the Estonian evening show “Ringvaade“.

The past days sure has been a special one, as not only did 1 country announce their intent to return, but two did. The neighboring pair of countries, that being Romania and Bulgaria, have officially announced that they will indeed return to the contest, when the contest is now set to have it’s 70th anniversary edition in Vienna, Austria. Starting with Romania, as they announced their return first.

It’s been quite busy in Luxembourg here the past week, since the Luxembourgish broadcaster (RTL) could announce several details regarding their upcoming national final. Earlier today, we even got some very decisive news, which was regarding who the finalists for the upcoming national will final, will be. Luxembourg made their grand return to the song contest, after a more than a 30 year long break, back in 2024.

Ireland is another country that has been busy lately, and last weekend, they made their decision on who should represent the nation at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which will also mark the nation’s 10th year anniversary since it’s debut. The Irish also held once again a national final, in order to select their contestant for the competition, and it is noteworthy to point out, that when it comes to Junior Eurovision, Irish broadcaster TG4 is in charge.

This Balkan nation might be fighting for staying in the competition, but they are surely giving it all they got, because earlier today, Montenegrin broadcaster (RTCG) finally decided to reveal, who would be participating in the upcoming national selection. Montesong, the national final which made it’s debut last year, will once again return as the selection method for the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest. The show will remain mostly the same from last year, but with some minor changes to the format.

A long selection progress has once more come to an end. In Ukraine, a decision has now been made and the honor of representing the country on the children’s stage has been given to Sofiia Nersesian. Let’s take a quick look into how she was selected. Unlike many other countries, Ukraine is one of the few, who are willing to have a national final for their selection, even when it comes to Junior Eurovision.

Regardless what happens, Spain and it’s national broadcaster (RTVE) will go ahead with the show, and therefor the broadcaster could reveal the participants for the upcoming edition of Benidorm Fest. Spain has recently released the list of participants that will take part in the upcoming edition of Benidorm Fest 2026, and it was announced that there will be 18 participants in total.

Latvia is slowly finding their ground when it comes to the Eurovision Song Contest, with the nation now reaching 2 finals in a row, just like they did in 2015 & 2016, so now the upcoming task, will be to make it a third time in a row, something the country hasn’t achieved, since the very introduction of semi-finals. For 2026, Latvian broadcaster (LSM) has announced that they would expand their format, and it might even just be worth it as well.

It might be a minor upgrade, but and upgrade is still an upgrade. Back in August, Finnish broadcaster (YLE) opened up their submission period, which only lasted for just about a week. Despite the short period, it is clear that artists were ready in line to send their entries. The Finnish broadcaster has revealed, that a total of 491 entries had been received.

We now have the name on that artist, but the song we’ll have to wait for. While we wait, let’s see who this young singer is. The contest in Tbilisi, Georgia, will mark the 3rd appearance for Montenegro in the juniors edition of the song contest.
