It's time to build an awesome summer at Peterborough Cathedral! This weekend Peterborough Cathedral launches Travelling Bricks, an extraordinary globally touring exhibition made from over one million LEGO® bricks, combined with hands-on interactive experiences designed for families to create, explore, and play together. Opening on Saturday July 18 it will run throughout the summer until  August 29.

Even though it looks like the trademark Minions tomfoolery is starting to wear thin – they at least tried hard to change up the narrative. With the third movie in the series – and seventh in the wider Despicable Me/Minions universe – there’s no doubt that the slapstick humour is being played out. There’s simply only so much you can do – even with much-loved one-dimensional characters – until the ‘well runs dry’.

This is the best day at the office you’ll have all week! It’s definitely not hard work enjoying 9 to 5 the Musical at the New Theatre, you’ll be tapping your toes, rooting for the three mistreated office workers and laughing out loud at the comedy moments. The live band nestled amidst the skyscrapers setting on stage do an amazing job providing all the catchy tunes – you HAVE to sing along to Dolly’s 9 to 5 – and there are some real stand out vocals from each cast member in their solos.

A funny, thoughtful relationship comedy – with far more heart than expected. I wasn’t at all surprised to learn that the story behind The Invite originally began life as a stage play. You can feel it almost immediately. With nearly the entire film taking place inside one apartment, you’ve essentially got your stage right there. Rather than relying on spectacle, it lives and dies by its dialogue and the chemistry between its characters.

The big rainbow celebration of our LGBTQA+ community is back with a day of fun on the Embankment and the ever popular Pride Parade on Saturday July 18. The parade leaves at 1pm from Stanley Park with pick up points along the way by the Cathedral and Sue Ryder on Bridge Street. Everyone’s welcome. Everyone is welcome to join the Pride Parade leaving Stanley Park at 1pm to celebrate our LGBTQA+ community . The main event the continues on the Embankment, tickets required, with a great line-up of music, special guests and entertainment.

Across the site, living history groups will bring the ancient world to life through interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities and engaging storytelling, offering visitors of all ages the chance to discover what life was really like in Roman Britain.

Dozens of teams will be ready to make a splash in homemade crafts with this year’s theme Marvellous Musicals. It’s a great day out with over 60 market stalls lining the streets plus there’ll be music and entertainment, a funfair and plenty of free family fun.
