Ohio State is entering a new corporate partnership with JPMorganChase that includes jersey patches for all 36 of the Buckeyes' teams and will yield nearly $17 million per year for the athletic program, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Tuesday. It is believed to be one of the biggest non-apparel corporate deals in college sports. The yearly income generated by the jersey patches is expected to be an industry leader and is bigger than many NBA jersey patch deals. Ready to roll.

MINNEAPOLIS -- John Anderson, the former University of Minnesota baseball coach and Big Ten career victories leader, died Sunday. He was 71. Anderson's family announced his death through the university, where he first arrived as a pitcher for a failed tryout in 1974 and spent 43 years as head coach of the Gophers until retiring after the 2024 season.

An expansive federal bill aimed at reshaping how college sports are governed is not expected to be put to a full vote in the U.S. Senate before Congress takes its August recess, a congressional source told ESPN on Thursday.

INDIANAPOLIS -- NCAA Division II athletes would move immediately to the age-based eligibility model adopted in Division I under proposed emergency legislation announced Tuesday. The Division II Management Council recommended the division's executive board adopt the model that would create a five-year period of eligibility, effective for the 2026-27 academic year.

Warde Manuel will step down as Michigan athletic director at the end of the calendar year, the school announced Monday as part of the conclusion of an investigation into the culture of athletics at the university. A search for a new AD will start immediately, according to the school, which released an overview of the investigation.

The University of Michigan Board of Regents did not discuss the future of athletic director Warde Manuel nor any aspect of an internal investigation into the school's athletic department during a meeting Thursday in Traverse City. The athletic department was the subject of much reporting and speculation this week on whether Manuel would be leaving a job he's held for over a decade.

Jayla Forbes, the No. 13 player and second-ranked post in the girls' SC Next class of 2027, announced Thursday that she has committed to Texas. Forbes is the fifth five-star of the class to commit to a program for the 2027-28 season -- and the Longhorns' first for the cycle. She chose Texas over Notre Dame, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, California and Mississippi State.

The NCAA is facing a federal class action lawsuit against its new eligibility rules. Eleven Division I athletes, including Division I basketball standouts Cade Tyson and Brock Wisne, have filed a federal class action lawsuit in Colorado that alleges the NCAA's new eligibility rules have adversely affected their ability to extend their college careers and the NIL benefits attached to that opportunity.
