The majority of Canadians support the stance made by Prime Minister Mark Carney when he abruptly broke off the 11th hour trade negotiations and announced retaliatory tariffs on some $20 billion in US imports.

The surveys will also provide additional, valuable feedback on how VAC is actually treating the veterans for whom they have been entrusted to provide care.

By Jason Davis Magellan Aerospace Corporation announced that it was awarded a contract from the Canadian government to produce the M-72 Light Anti-Tank Weapon (LAW) under Canada's Munitions Supply Program. The contract represents an important investment in Canada's sovereign defence industrial capability and will strengthen the nation's ability to manufacture and sustain critical munitions for the Canadian Armed Forces, according to Magellan Aerospace.

By Tim Ryan Now that TKMS has emerged as the winner in what is being called the largest defence procurement in Canadian history, all eyes will be on the firm and how it proceeds to align with domestic companies. Prime Minister Mark Carney announced July 6 that thyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) was selected as the winner of the heated competition to provide the Royal Canadian Navy with up to 12 submarines. It offered the RCN its Type 212CD which is being built for both Germany and Norway.

By Jason Davis Prime Minister Mark Carney has set in motion another sole-source deal, this one with Leonardo of Italy. Carney made the announcement June 16 after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, on the margins of the 2026 G7 Leaders’ Summit in Évian, France. The move is part of the defence diversification initiative to try to reduce Canada’s reliance on the U.S. for defence products.

He has stated he will make Canadians pay for the smoke drifting into the U.S. that is coming from out of control wildfires in our country. And once again he has pushed the idea of annexing Canada. Canadians continued to push back against the Trump administration, avoiding U.S. booze and travel.

By Richard Lawrence On the 9th August, 1974, a United Nations Buffalo aircraft flying over Egypt was shot out of the sky by a Syrian air defence missile. On that plane were nine Canadian Armed Forces personnel involved in a peacekeeping mission who were killed on what was supposed to be a routine resupply mission to the presence in the Golan Heights. To this day, it is still the largest single loss of Canadian lives since Canada began participating in UN Peacekeeping missions in 1948.

One of the biggest was the July 6 announcement that TKMS of Germany was selected as the preferred bid in the Canadian Patrol Submarine project. The plan is for the Royal Canadian Navy to purchase up to 12 diesel-electric powered attack submarines at a life-cycle cost of over $100 billion.
